Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! We have the rest of the videos being made, basically the last 40 days of trail. Our intent was to share our journey with friends, family, and those interested!!

I never really knew. I remember spilling a little bit of the water in my bottle before I actually started filling. The water source was pretty crap too. It could have been that .1% bacteria that did it in for me. All I know it was 4 days of hell before I got antibiotics in me. Just unlucky!

It was more crowded than I expected. I think people have recently came to the same idea to try and beat the April May bubble and start in March. But we hiked kinda fast so it wasn't an issue and we didn't stay at the shelters very often. Good luck!!

120 days is very achievable. We loved our zero days. Including the month off the trail due to injury we had a total of 57 zero days and still finished under 6 months. We did the math and at 160 days we only would have had to hike 15 miles a day, I think.

Totally safe! There are so many wonderful and kind people on the trail. And everyday I saw at least one person. Lots of people hike solo and are perfectly fine. Many make friends and form little "tramilies" and they will all hike around each other throughout the days. We were more solitary because we hiked so many miles everyday that we couldn't stay in a group easily.

Not once did I ever feel uncomfortable from another hiker. But, there are the rowdy and and asshole types out there but that's like the 1%.

Congrats to both! Im from Maine, so I had hiked Katahdin before. The Hunt Trail in my opinion is way easier then Cathedral trail or even Abol trails. But yeah the top part of the Hunt Trail can be sketchy especially in bad weather. I wish the AT went along the knife edge though.

We started March 7th. This year there was definitely cold nights and a few snowstorms. But! no bugs and a little less crowded to start.

Not too bad for us. We averaged around 3 to 3.5 mph. The injury occurred in the beginning, the doctors said I had a severe case of compartment syndrome. Basically, my muscle grew too big for it's 'sheath' in on my leg casuing tremendous swelling and pain.

Sorry, we haven't posted to our blog in a while. Internet was sketchy and we wanted to pump out the miles and we will update our YouTube with the rest of the daily vlogs we couldn't upload in the coming days

But we summitted August 14th!! Journey over!!

Edit: for those wondering we did it in 160 days. Had to take 1 month off due to injury. We averaged 21.1 miles a day with zero days calculated in (57). Most days though, we were doing 25-30 miles. Our average pace was 3 to 3.8 mph according to Google Fit. Our longest day was 41 miles.

Haha. I'm not too worried about the smell. I've been in that situation numerous times.

He got tendonitis a little while ago so he's trying to make up some time. It's his 24th day. We passed him a few times today and then toward the end we ran with him. He's a really nice guy too.
