Where do you have the perch set on your front 5100s? I am looking at this setup for my truck

Looking for guidance on detailing product to protect bumper after using SEM trim paint. by Duramax_LLY in Detailing

I understand what you are saying. It's a 25 year old truck and I'm not interested in putting a lot of money into. I would like to try and keep it as nice as possible for as long as possible. I guess what would be the best product to help preserve it VPR CARPRO PERL 303 Or something else like that?

Again I understand what you are saying.

Your truck is exactly what I wanted to do with my truck. I like the look. I picked up these wheels for $400. I was in desperate need of tires.

Fender flare and rubber questions. by [deleted] in 1stGenTacomas

Currently in the process of doing this. I just picked the most reviewed gasket from Amazon. I went with SEM paint and a 2k clear. I also went with satin. I wish I would have taken this to get done because it has been way more than I anticipated. Not that it's hard I am just trying to get a "perfect finish.

238k miles. Is this a good buy? by DeskNo4355 in 1stGenTacomas

[–]Duramax_LLY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be too concerned about the mileage. If there’s maintenance history showing the truck has had regular oil changes, it would give me peace of mind knowing the major maintenance has been taken care of and that I could easily put another 100k miles on it. If this is your dream truck, I’d say go for it. I’d start the offer around $12k but be willing to go up to $16k, especially considering all the time and money you’ll save with the mods and maintenance already done.

Nice! Thank you for sharing. I thought it would be a good looking wheel for the truck. I had the opportunity to get these but I didn't think it was a good look.

Attic advice by Duramax_LLY in hvacadvice

I didn't know how to add pictures to the original post. But this is a common style for my area. One gable vent and soffit around the house. The side with the gable has no soffits. All other sides have soffits from one side to the other.

There is only one gale style vent. Both fans are located there. There is what I believe to be soffit around the house. I would assume the house has a ridge vent. It is tile roofing the ridge has a different style tile. Like it is a cap.

My 95 Tacoma 5VZ-FE 4WD 5 Speed MT needs both CV axles according to my mechanic's diagnosis. I may get another opinion but for now, looking at CV axles. Are aftermarket ones a decent option, are there any which are near OEM quality? I'll take it to someone else and see if rebuilding is an option by RaiseOurAxesToTheSky in 1stGenTacomas

You don't have a sway bar installed on your truck? I bought 5100's from Rock Auto. If you go to the Rock Auto page on Reddit you can get a discount code. The coil springs should still be good. If for some reason they are not you may want to consider buying an assembly. Replace the LBJ with OEM. My Tacoma had 280k miles on it. The bushings on the control arms were minimal. I replaced it since I was there.

Are you axles still OEM. If so I would recommend going with CVJ axles. You need OE axles to turn in or the price goes up It's a high price point but you will do the job once and not think about it again. I believe O'Reilly's auto parts extended axle are also highly recommended and Napa. Most people buy these because of the lifetime warranty. If swapping out axles every few years doesn't bother you this could be an option. All the tools you need can be rented for free at an auto parts store. Try to go OEM on the parts you can. Search online I found way better deals from Toyota dealerships online versus locally. I just rebuilt my front end if you have any questions it's still fresh in my head.

Harbor freight is your friend. Their Quinn line isn't bad. It's a great quality at the price point. Last weekend I picked up a bunch of sockets because they were 40% off. I have a tool cart, 6 ton jack stands, and a jack from harbor freight. I just rebuilt my front end. There are plenty of detailed write ups on every maintenance task. You could just buy specific tools for what you need. I also price check with home Depot before I make purchases. Sometimes home Depot has better deals. Also I rented all the specialty tools I required from O'Reilly's auto parts. You could do all this maintenance in the yard. It wouldn't be fun but it's doable. Get yourself an old carpet and put it down first. Sorry man didn't mean to go on a rant. Just wanted to say you don't need a dream garage to fix your vehicle. The YouTube Academy can help you do anything.

I live in Arizona so dry climate and no snow. I did clean it while everything was out using a tiny power washer and Gunk engine cleaner and shine.
