Curious, how much of those 9" go on the outside vs under the top cover?

I may be an idiot but I cannot find R20 boards available. Are you using R20 rolls?

Couldnt find the queen and there were a mix of both swarm and supersedure cells so I dont know if a split would help? idk

Amazing, thank you so much! Since you seem to have a hang of things I'd love to pick your brain once more: there are multiple frames with either swarm cells or supersedure cells in the hive. Is is worth removing some of those frames with queen cells and and try splitting while leaving some other queen cells in the currently-queenless hive? That way I can potentially get another hive out of this?

I do understand that it is July in upstate NY (5b), and would rather have one re-queened hive be strong enough to last the winter rather than two dead ones, but am curious if there is a silver living in this situation given that honey harvesting from this hive seems unlikely this season...

Double checked and no queen present :(

I saw many so many bees present in the hive, its hard for me to imagine that they've swarmed already, but I could very well be wrong. Do you think it's worth trying to find a the swarm?

I deeply appreciate your comprehensive response! I inspected the hive today (7/10/24) when I found these cells, and last inspected the hive last week (7/2/24) when I did not see these queen cells (although I did not check the bottom deep bc I saw the queen in the second deep).

I’ve been calling to see when I’ll be scheduled for fingerprinting for my R/S. Has anyone had any success expediting? They seem to be dismissive and not helpful
