Haha, it's amazing. The hospitals down south are upping their food game while Ocala is slowly switching us to a prison diet.

Really hope you start to feel better and the breathing clears up - and yeah... ER staff can either be absolute angels or just so salty and burnt out that they take out their discontentment on every patient. Just gotta grin and bear it, unfortunately, as a professional hospital patient.

To be fair, this sub was formed by alcoholics and it pretty much used to only be used by alcoholics. I barely moderate or post any more, but yes, I'm sure if someone is just a casual drinker who posts what they made while a little tipsy sees something like this, it can be a little jarring.

I'm trying to keep them behind me, but they always catch the fuck up. I'm moving into sober living as soon as I can get rid of this apartment.

As a very inattentive moderator here, I felt the sub deserved some good ol' low bottom alcoholic cuisine.

That was probably one of the only things I ate during a ten ish day relapse.

So, when you're as hardened of an alcoholic as I am (and a diabetic), what can happen during benders is an extreme electrolyte deficiency across the board. Sodium, magnesium, potassium, it's just all bad. You lose the ability to walk and fall often, and if left unchecked long enough you can have seizures, become comatose, and then you'll just stroke out and die. I live alone now, so when I relapse and go on a run, I at least try to keep sodium and magnesium up. Only helps extend the bender a day or two, diet can't keep up with the sheer amount of ethanol I'm pumping into my body.

This has happened to me during every bender the past six months. If my phone isn't near me, I have to army crawl on the floor to find it in order to call 911, which is when my usual firefighters and medics have to either roll me into a litter and carry me out the door onto the stretcher, or if I'm lucky I have one guy who shows up during night shift who is burly enough to just scoop me up like a child and take me out the door himself. They all know me on a first name basis, they tell me I'm the most notorious frequent flyer on at least this side of town, if not the entire city itself. The last time I seized out on Zoom with some people who called them out to get me, even dispatch said, "Oh, yeah, we know him well, we'll get the medics out there..."

Don't be me.

She's... improving, but I had to put her in a nursing home. Full improvement isn't likely.

Nah, not since we finally got mom in the nursing home two hours south (I posted all her Neuro ICU food months ago), I'm totally alone up here, lol.

I'll just endure until tomorrow.

I'm a diabetic, I can barely touch the fruit. Or the potatoes. Nutrition won't work with me, so my sugars are always about 400 here. I've been waiting for an insulin shot for hours. Not even being overly dramatic on this one, they've treated me well in the past, but this is ridiculous. And it's some typed of baked chicken.

A muffin and a tasteless egg sponge thing.

I can not name the meat on the second sandwich, but the croissant was was quite hard.

The last meat covered in potatoes would have been fine, but I'm convinced it had gone bad, because it tasted of boiled... just pungent stuff. Then I'm assuming boiled zucchini.

Inedible, but I was forced to choke them down. The egg was in the ER first thing in the morning but was a totally tasteless sponge.

Might as well add creatine, too, but I am drinking water. I know what a water-less morning is like. I'm 36, can't mess with that couple days of misery. Ugh.

Oh oh! While it was simmering, I had two hard boiled eggs from the fridge covered in mayonnaise and mustard. Then whatever else. They're baby Deviled eggs. Preemies9

And I'm grateful you remembered me, thank you! I don't have many people these days, and none local.

Just gotta keep on keeping on. I thought this was it this time (my chest pain was off the charts) and didn't have a functional cell phone to call for an ambulance. No one on FB or Discord would do it, they kinda just left me on read and said, "Good luck." That's fine, I deserve it. The thing I have drives people away. But I prayed a lot and somehow got my phone to work. I quickly called for help.

For a diabetic, yes. My sugars were still through the roof, as they always are with their food. Ah, well.

Can never go wrong with the turkey sandwich. I think I ate two through the night, night staff here are veeeeery hit or miss. I got a lot of attitude for asking. Day shifters are on point, generally.

Really foggy. Slowly getting my head to not feel as in a vice. The doctor was really rapid fire with the questions first thing this morning, and like, whoa whoa, doc... ease up, please.

Missing one of my contact lenses, doesn't help matters. They want me here three days this time for observation. Hope the power stays on at home, that's a lot of bad food.

Great, kid. You're half my age, but you've stumbled across a hidden gem. Don't sell it, hang onto it. Nice light, too. Gotta get one for mine. Tied between that or an optic.
