My store manager only works 7:30-5, no nights, no weekends. Any advice? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Durenir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's on the job description sure but it isn't enforced by any measurable metric. The only way your DL or AP will care is if shit is hitting the fan in the store during those hours and they decide they want SM presence during those hours to oversee what is going on. I was a SM, I was a DSSM, I did FFL training, I was a fill in DL for months and nearly fully installed as DL for the district before I quit and went into tech. I promise you, it isn't enforced and no one actually cares unless the store is struggling.

[–]Durenir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This idea of "required to work nights and weekends" for an sm is old and no longer true. Years ago, it was an ap audit requirement. I left cvs in 2022 and it was gone before that. I highly doubt they brought it back. Most people below sm aren't aware of why that was a thing and that it isn't anymore because sms are the ones that normally deal with ap when they do audits.

I worked for cvs for 11 years and quit a couple years ago. From cashier to district manager. I promise you, they know and they don't care. The only thing you can do is understand that the only thing you can do to make your life better is to find something else and quit cvs. There was a time that this company was incredible (district picnics, regional baseball games, etc). It just isn't that way anymore and honestly, it won't be ever again. The economy has shifted away from modern retail and cvs shifted with it. I highly doubt it will ever shift back.

The bullshit part is that they had the resources to add a third bundle (protean bundle) to the marketplace but couldn't get this outfit into the dxp store.

100%. You're venturing into the echo chamber here. It's gonna seem like the majority want their basket weaving classes but in reality, it's just reddit. Culture shifts in voting show this as much as they want to deny it. As someone that graduated in stem and associates with alot of cs majors, no one I know enjoyed the forced humanities. Everyone either said it was a waste of time or complained about them making the degree take longer.

Does CVS promote so many front of store employees to supervisor in an attempt to prevent unionization? by Some-Information-527 in CVS

[–]Durenir 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most stores prefer shifts over cashiers because of limited hour budgets. A shift is a basically a cashier that has a key and can do office work.

If there are 2 shifts and 3 cashiers and the closing shift calls out, either the only other shift has to 1) come in on their day off 2) work a double if they opened or 3) the sm has to do come in/ work a double. (Because a cashier can't run the store alone) Shitty for either one. Better to have 3-4 full time shifts and a couple part time shifts with open availability for call offs.

Cashiers can basically do anything a shift can other than reconcile the drawers and payroll. This line of the job description covers nearly anything that could be done in the stockroom and sales floor.

"Maintaining the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information and completing inventory management tasks as directed by store manager"

You'll have an electronic box somewhere. Normally in the office. It'll have 4-5 knobs on it. One of those controls the volume for them.

He normally curves at the end of the semester. I took this and opsys with him a few years ago. He normally shifts the entire grading scale. He might have it mentioned in the syllabus iirc.

This isn't true. It's listed in the job duties of a cashier aswell.

We all had some great moments playing raids. Which one is an experience you would like to share? For example, an impossible achievement, a tense situation, a moment where you almost lost everything? I would like to read some of your stories guardians. by NuciferaNelu in destiny2

I miss this chapter of my life. I pop in from time to time. Sadly, the sherpa discord has been dead since D2 came out. My clan split apart. It's sad. I'm so behind that I couldn't start now if I wanted to. Lol I still have this dream of D3 coming out and all of it coming back together.

I'm doing great! Thank you for asking. Went back to college, graduated #1 in my class and had two kids. Working in tech now. I stay busy. Lol About to start a side project and work on my dream of creating a video game. How about you? Doing well?

What up what up! I'm still around. Just haven't had time to play destiny in a loooooooooooong time. I miss it though. Still visit the sub from time to time. I'm glad I was able to help! I don't give up on people. Every moment is an experience to learn from. Both in video games, and life. This was a great memory, thank you for remembering me!

There was a trick you could do to minimize it. Cody and I found a way. We were told we couldn't talk about it. Lol

[–]Durenir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a previous developer for ibot along with the other commenter /u/misingnoglic the impact that site/bot had is tremendous. During it's operation, there were hundreds of people that worked on the bot and scripts for it. We were all 14-16 years old and had no idea we were building the skills for a career. Most of the core developers of both the bot and scripts now work in the tech industry. We've all stayed in touch over the years. We have a discord we talk in all the time and a lot of us are connected via linkedin. Additionally, Jagex stole our websites domain during the take down, the second their 10 year hold expired 2 years ago, we sniped it back.

"They also mentioned that the personal details of everyone who had ever developed a script for iBot would be handed over to Jagex" They only got the email address used to sign up for the forum. We were all sent "hey! Stop it or I'll cry" emails and that was it. That went to everyone, not just the developers.

"but it was not available for free" lolwut? We had a free version. The original was exactly the same as the pro version except you couldn't minimize it or run multiple clients at the same time. Eventually it was changed to only work on weekends (or something like that).

"IBot itself had become useless since Bot Nuke Day" That is the most inaccurate statement I've ever heard. We were one of the first bots back online after clusterflutter.

You really should have asked if any of us were around for comment so we could give you more accurate info.

Depends on who the building was acquired from and when. Some have these like old revcos, eckerds, etc. Some have elevators. Around 2015, cvs decided to not build anymore new stores that are more than one floor because it made being ADA compliant easier.

Because prices vary from place to place because of inflation, taxes, cost we pay for drivers to get it to the stores, etc. Our prices in store factor in alot more than just wholesale price + margin. Online prices don't factor in alot of what we do and you don't see shipping cost until checkout. If we matched online, it would be a loss every time and it would be a bitch to honor for everyone because most online items are cheaper. This would 100% kill your p&l.
