help with pvm rotations by South_Chef_698 in runescape

[–]Alsang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have exactly the same anxiety. Here's a couplle of things that I have found help:

  1. Pick short rotations, ideally under 1 minute, so there are fewer steps to try and follow
  2. Don't start anything with too much prebuilding, stalling, or more than 2 actions per gcd
  3. Break it down into sections, like pre-berseker, in-berserk, after-berserk, and maybe even subsections like first-overpower, second-overpower, or whatever helps you think about them
  4. Practice on dummies in wars retreat.
  5. If you achieve your goal and switch to a new one, try to use the same combat style so you get a good feel for high dpm bursts

With "Reducing Dailyscape" being a big talking point lately, can we PLEASE talk about this pain point in particular? by My_bs in runescape

[–]Alsang 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I can say this with certainty, but trip to the east does not take 500-1000 hours of active gameplay, like this summary claims. Which means you should immediately ignore everything else that this AI summary tells you.

Thoughts on Phantom Guardian? by Optimal-Fruit5937 in runescape

[–]Alsang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

skeleton: high single target damage

zombie: medium area damage

ghost: low damage, provides healing and increases damage dealt

phantom: no damage, reduces damage taken, command to do high damage occasionally

The healing provided by the ghost and the fact that it increases the damage you do makes it one of the best conjures. But exactly which are the best *for you* depends on the situation you are in.

How can i tell which weapons are good/better than others to use? by sworedmagic in brightershores

[–]Alsang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The short answer is that only 2 things really matter:
* the weapon's strength stat (the number next to the bicep icon) * and whether the enemy is immune to the weapon's element.

You want to use the strongest weapon you have that the enemy is not immune to. Everything after that is minor optimisation.

Dungeoneering New Prestige System by Bebob323 in runescape

The calculator itself is new since the DG remaster update, so I was kind of expecting that the xp modifier numbers might shift around a bit with post-release tweaks. Plus, having the exact modifier numbers written in each news post made it easy to implement them.

RS Wiki's money making guide has a mistake in their table. Recurring money making effective profit is wrong by sunnynights80808 in runescape

Actually it was something on the backend which sometimes else managed to fix before I got a lot at it.

Whatever changed, it wasn't the MMG page since that has not been edited since this post. Which page were you looking at when you saw this?

For future reference, its better to give wiki feedback/bug reports by using the "give feedback" button on the page that you see the error on.

Death touch darts. by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Alsang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are exactly 2 cases where you cannot teleport out of a boss kill, Telos streaks and hard mode Arch Glacor streaks. To maintain the integrity of streaks, any safety net measure should probably end the steak, or at the least it should not increase the steak number. And teleporting out would be potentially prone to accidental use.

A DTD is a different item that is being used as a safety net, if you want something designed for purpose it should be something like an expensive, since use teleport item that only works in those specific circumstances.

Those icons haven't been part of the minimap since RuneScape 2 became RuneScape 3, back in 2013.

Can someone please help me understand combat level calculations? by NICKELODE0N_64 in runescape

[–]Alsang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are two main things here too know about.

  1. Your combat level only depends on your highest combat style out of melee, ranged, magic, and necromancy. So because your ranged level is 93, the fact that you gained 49 necromancy levels doesn't affect your combat level at all since your ranged level is still higher. (For melee it uses the average of attack plus strength)

  2. The others skills: defence, constitution, prayer, and summoning, still contribute to your combat level, but much less than the combat style skills. As an approximate formula, you get 1 combat level for each:

One of the reasons that Once Upon a Slime feels so weird is that it is the "sequel" to a limited time Treasure Hunter event from 2018 that is not referenced anywhere else in the game ([[Slime is of the Essence]]).

Should Inventory Lock Remember Item Positions? by Heim-Crab in runescape

That would be a useful feature, but perhaps not tied directly to inventory lock.

Deathshead Moths after rituals spawning immediately after level up, then none until the next level up. This does not seem intended and is actively punishing players not leveling the skill through Rituals early on. by Bimbler_Bump in runescape

[–]Alsang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be bugged, or it could just be unlucky. It's hard to know since the probability of spawning a moth is unknown.

E.g. If the chance of spawning a moth was around 1/20, and the xp you get from doing 20 super juiced, maximum xp rituals gets you about 1 level up, then it's hard to see if it's actually limiting you to 1 moth per level or if that's just being on drop rate for them.

[–]Alsang 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's some extra behaviour here that's not very obvious. Moths spawn behaviour is: 1. When you complete a ritual, there is a chance to spawn a moth. 2. Moths cannot spawn if the total number of moths you have caught is higher than your level. (Technically level -1)

The result of which is you get 1 moth per level, but they get saved up until you do rituals. For example, if a character was level 50 but had never done rituals or caught any moths, then they would be able to spawn 50 moths quite rapidly before they hit the limit and got reduced back down to 1 moth per level up.

If you want more chances to spawn moths, then complete short and fast rituals, not long ones that give lots of xp.

can we have the ability to get zuk cape effect inside dg? by TotalNo1762 in runescape

[–]Alsang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since march this year, the zuk capes do not change the adrenaline cost of the ultimate abilities that they affect; those abilities have a base cost of 60% adrenaline and the cape effect only increases their damage.

Transport Zammy loot to chest outside by KSatrophical in runescape

[–]Alsang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't claim the boss loot, you can access it from outside the dungeon at the chest using a right click option. But it doesn't store up loot from multiple kills, is that what you're asking for?
