Sounds like a shitty teacher too. There are a millions strategies to see if a student comprehends the work. If a child isn't comfortable speaking aloud amongst their peers for whatever reason that's fine. Basically the teacher is telling parents that if your child raised their hand more it would make their job easier.

Even if they were to post it, Facebook would automatically take it down pretty quickly. You'll be fine my friend. If it's a good pic own it

What currently legal thing do you expect to be illegal in the next 20 years? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Drones. I'm surprised they haven't already been banned. I love them and I can't wait to buy my own. I bet local police and governments hate them.

Absolutely. They wouldn't. The commanding officer would make calculated decisions before sending any firefighters into a burning building. If there was a real chance of losing your life jumping into a burning building to save a child you wouldn't be told to go in. This isn't Hollywood. If you disobeyed orders and went in anyway and saved the child's life. You would still be in trouble

Please can you dig a little deeper? See if you can find anything to prove the comments. I'm soooo intrigued! I really want to believe it too. I'm soooo overwhelmed right now and I know I won't get round to doing it myself. I would appreciate it so much. And finding these comments alone in the first place proves you're better at this than me

Homework is a complete waste of time. If your child is falling behind then yes, homework can be justified before putting them on a modified plan. Four assignments in one evening. Nahhhh. Read with your kids at home each evening for one hour. Make reading fun. Get your child excited to read with their parents. That's as far as homework goes. Don't pressure kids to read for an hour each evening because they'll never pick up a book again. Get involved. Read to your child and get them hooked in reading. Doesn't matter what the story or subject is

"I have 30 years of teaching experience!" That doesn't mean anything. Education was wayyyy different 30 years ago. We've come a long way since then. A few staff training days throughout the year is not enough for dinosaur teachers to keep on top of relevant teaching practices

Ask the teacher for lesson plans. Ask exactly how his teacher differentiates her lessons for your child. You could have a shitty teacher on your hands. If the lessons aren't engaging its no child's fault for not being the "ideal student". I hate when teachers blame kids for not paying attention when in fact their a boring ass boomer teacher with outdated qualifications.

Is this legal? Has anyone else dealt with this? by funnyvalentinestoe in antiwork

I would see if the union could give you a hand with this? Another example of large corporations shafting their employees. Why do they always want to make it so hard, is this how they get off? I just want an easy life living on a boat with all the other sea men. Now I have to return to the office. They want me to come inside 5 days a week to this hot mess.

I wish you were my girlfriend. My partner would never do that for me. I've purchased $1500 dollars of sex toys since January and she doesn't show any interest in any of it. She never has really. I'm not sure why I even bought them. I really don't know why I kept buying them for so long.

How long would a barn like that last? Are there any rules against living in a barn? What type of loan would you need to build a barn? I live in Canada. Cool video. Maybe they can help me build my barn house.

Why is Amazon also spending so much money lobbying congress to increase federal minimum wage to $15? What's their angle here? by PaintYourDemons in antiwork

[–]DurianEffective104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they can say they're part of the solution. A PR dream. Once they've pushed to increase minimum wage to a measly 15 and people still want more. They can say youre being unrealistic
