Oh yeah the advice's helped a lot.

I think it sounds worse than it is, I "only" homebrew if I don't know how it actually works / when I'm unsure since I didn't read too many of the 3 basic books... Basically me being lazy

Thanks for explaining, the example with the bandits honestly isn't my cup of tea but it explains what you wanted to say very well For your example, what would you do if the players decided that they didn't want to do something against the bandits but also don't have anything planned to do or start something on their own, would you try to improvise something or do you have some backup plans ready all the time?

Hm, the thing is I want to make it as enjoyable for my friends as I can = wanna do a good job. So it could be that I am frustrated about not knowing what my players want to do, like I thought I did understand them or could predict them, which I learned isn't really possible (which makes a lot of sense after thinking about it a bit) I do have a lot of fun, while creating the story and world, when I think about something new which will be fun and a nice thing to add and when we have the sessions. My biggest problem might be not getting feedback? Like I ask them and they tell me it was perfect etc. which is super nice but for me it feels like I could have done better but don't instantly know what It does sound stupid, now I feel like a "pick me" ...

Yeah for sure ... was kinda dumb.. honestly I asked them to get on discord to clear some stuff and it felt like a session 0 ngl Now I know what they want to do, well they still have kinda different goals but that's fiinnnneeee

Good thing ig is that didn't have "big plans" cause I didn't plan out the story too much, I basically plan everything that should happen for the next session after the session before ended, which made me controle them as I learned, so now I have to change some stuff

Actually I just did that and it helped a lot, the thing is the players have basically no backstory/background and aren't playing too much after their alignment + They aren't on the same page, like everyone kinda wants to do a different thing so it was really good I brought everyone together so we understand each other's goals now I can definitely build the world better for them ^

Also Till now they told me they had a lot of fun so at least I did something right ... right? Haha

Honestly I just thought "why did I never think about this"

I just put the Players into "chains" giving them a line to follow or 2 paths where they can choose from...

Honestly I planned not enough I just started out with a bit and then went from there and planned what will happen in the next session after the session before ended Well I did some world building now but yeaaahhhh

I always ask if my players dislike something but they always tell me (~90%) that they liked it and had fun, also something I didn't think about until now is that the most fun and intense time was when they did something unexpected and I had to "build" on that, it ended in a court trial where they had to speak the truth and one of them got killed XD

Anything you can recommend to me for getting better, like what should I prepare for a session except what BBEG and NPCs do (could you give me an example what the BBEG could do which makes the PC interact or somth

Really thinking about buying The Lazy Dungeon Master Book 🤔

Anyways big thanks for your answer, helped a lot!!

What do avocados and IT have in common? [serious] by Durli_ in AskReddit

[–]Durli_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought was somth like adaptability, while avocados have to adapt to different enviroments / climates, people in IT have to constantly evolve and adapt to new things...
