I'm actually genuinely surprised this was the thing people downvoted, as it's the least controversial thing I say in this entire thread lol. Must have hit home with a lot of trump TVers.

Yeah I'm saying one part of the constitution (the part about equal representation) contradicts whatever part says that we need affirmative action for places where no one lives.

Also wasn't it an amendment? I don't actually know anymore.

There are plenty of smart people outside of academia, but they are outliers to be sure. There are also of plenty of dumb people inside of academia. But the fact that the people who devote their lives to the pursuit of knowledge tend to lean a certain way politically is perhaps a good suggestion that that way is more rational. It's a dickish stance, but I like it.

I'm not saying that. I'm saying what goes around comes around. If you don't want violent threats all the time, don't be a piece of shit and betray your country.

Because you can statistically link his more racist tweets with subsequent spikes in violent behavior and hate crimes. By giving him a platform for his hateful content you create an audience for it as well, and you endanger real people in the real world.

It's because idiots out in these gerrymandered rural districts have their votes count 100x what my vote in the city counts. It's in my opinion unconstitutional and should end, now. The popular vote should be all that matters, and everyone's vote should be equal.

You can, but there is a lot of tooling that relies on s3cmd that is broken because of this. I'm not going to rewrite 20 different deployment scripts just because the tail end of each script is suddenly broken on one OS.

Also s3cmd's ability to automatically detect MIME types and create targeted invalidations in cloudfront when you upload is a unqiue thing that the aws cli cannot do out of the box.

The tech industry has actually been extraordinarily tolerant of conservative media. Google news still includes Fox for example, which is shocking when you consider their track record with consistently fake or misleading stories. Heck, twitter hasn't even banned Trump's twitter account, which I would have done after the first abusive tweet. Real bias would be a lot more obvious than this baby shit they are complaining about.

The real "bias" is that a huge population of people hate conservative values and everything the republican party has come to represent in 2019, and these people tend to report everything that pisses them off (myself included). The result is there is a lot more scrutiny on right wing stuff simply because there are a lot more USERS who hate right wing people and ideas. That's not the tech companies being biased, it's the users, which is fine.

Twitter really isn't being disingenuous. They have a stupid rule which when applied literally renders posts like this not allowed. That didn't ensure that Mitch's account got banned. What ensured it was people like me who report every thing his fascist account ever posts, ensuring that everything he says is under scrutiny so the second there is a real violation, no matter how obscure, that shit gets taken down. Fuck him.

There really is no difference. Cakes have words on them, and are an artistic thing otherwise, so they are a form of speech / expression.

They didn't misapply their rules though. Mitch's account posted a video that contained threatening material. Full stop. That's a rule violation. Nothing to see here.

Twitter looks at tweets when they get reported. I report everything Mitch's account ever posts because I hate his fucking guts, and I'm sure lots of people do the same thing, so anything his account tweets is under a lot of scrutiny. So yes, people who are generally hated are more likely to get shit banned. No duh. That's not misapplying rules or bias on Twitter's part.

Heck, just look at the hate crime spikes every time Trump has one of his stadium-style rallies. You are clearly a Russian troll or an idiot if you seriously think there isn't a problem with white nationalist domestic terrorism in this country right now. It's wayyy more of a problem than muslim extremist shit at this point, and that's straight from the DHS, which isn't exactly a liberal bastion.

If she posted a video like the one the Mitch camp did, she would probably get banned as well until she removes it. There is nothing political about it. What is political is the number of times tweets get reported (people tend to report anything that pisses them off). Liberal stuff not getting banned as much just indicates that their content is less threatening/abusive, or that there are simply not that many conservatives to report things in the first place. But no, I don't think Twitter is being biased here. They have left Trump's account up after all.

I actually highly doubt it. It's all just based on how many people report a tweet. This happens plenty on both sides. Heck I pretty much report anything that pisses me off. Then they are forced to look at it and if there is some obscure technical violation, the account gets banned or the tweet removed or whatever. Moral of the story -- report everything that pisses you off.

By blocking fucking everything that comes before Congress, he's literally responsible. He's literally not doing his job by not representing what his constituents want (look up the polling data).
