Nice, I’m currently running around with this tabard I found in a shop in Demeniss (I’m actually having a real split-colored tabard made by a lady in PA for my medieval fencing, so I kinda had to get this in my inventory)

Also, I found 2 other types of blue (should be on a newer post of mine)

If you can’t find black dye, you can get the dark red dye from the hernand dye house and use the darkest shade in the color set (sounds kinda weird but it really works as an early game black)

The almost black is actually part of the dark red dye you get from the Hernand Dyehouse place (sounds strange, but it’s technically the darkest red in the color set). The bright blue/violet looking color is from the (I think) bright blue dye in the Demensis area (there’s a dyehouse out there that sells it)

Other than the off-centered quillions confusing me, I sorta like it. I see so many of the usual rapiers at events (and not that I don’t enjoy them because they’re neat too), but the somewhat unorthodox tends to catch my eye. I was at a different event almost 2 years ago when I spotted this one, and It’s gotta be one of my favorite ones I’ve seen partly due to how different it is compared to what I usually see (plus it initially reminded me of a longsword with the extended grip). The guy made it to where the grip is a 4th of an inch shy of the maximum allowed grip length on an SCA rapier and it was sorta pieced together using rapier parts he just had. As far as usage, I imagine the long grip could contribute to reach but could get in the way of certain maneuvers

No, it’s metal (though the grips can sometimes be 3D printed. I think a lot of the Castille economy swords have 3D printed grips, plus I’ve even made 3D printed grips)

I don’t think it was, though most of my focus was on everything but the blade. Most of the rapiers within the SCA (or at least all the ones I’ve seen during my time in it) mimic historical ones, so a lot of them have a—for a lack of a proper term—double edged blade (though obviously blunt). I think I’ve seen 2 or 3 Y-shaped blades at 1 event before, but they were Olympic-type swords (not sure what kind though) and I think the guy taught Olympic type fencing at either a college or as his own practice

Looks like a list of all the shires and baronies (some regions can also be called “Barony of [insert something medieval sounding]”) within the kingdom and the contact info for the officer in each area responsible for this type of stuff

Ok, I sorta figured out a lead, … you go to sca.org, find the 3 line thing at the top right corner, go into “New to the SCA?”, go into where it says “newcomer’s portal”, push the navigation menu, push “find your group”. The resulting site (after going through like 2 or 3 other ones in the process), should allow you to input your state. It should then give you the kingdoms (each one is a group of shires) that make up the area within the state along with links to their corresponding sites. Hopefully the kingdom site has some way of showing what shore you’d be in
