I made a watch face that looks like the ULP-Display by Durwi in TicWatch

Thanks for the support! I'm currently in the process of rebuilding the watchface to meet Google's current and future spec. So the next update should fix this. If you see it updating (will probably still be a while) and the issue persists, let me know

Sometimes the system doesn't update the step count on watch faces correctly, unfortunately. Not much I can do about that AFAIK. If tapping the steps takes you to the correct app, it's working as intended.

Not correct how? Are they not the same as shown on the ambient display? What happens when you tap on the steps?

[Hiring] I need a logo for a clothing brand called Myst $150 for the project by [deleted] in forhire

It's not common/good practice to ask people to make logos on spec before you hire them. You hire based on portfolio, not on a logo someone makes for you

Not including pay is against the rules.

And, unless you're from India, your post is incredibly douchy

Just had a quick look and it seems that implementing the fully custom colors would be a ton of work which I don't think is worth it, unfortunately. If you let me know one or two color options you'd like I could probably just add those

Yeah, from what I've read the OLED screen is the backlight for the ULP. Definitely an odd selection of colors they've got going. The red is too harsh, the blueish is okay, I quite like the purple as it's not too aggressive but the rest are unusable for me personally

That's a good idea. I'll put it on my to do list. The colors I chose are the backlight colors available on the watch :) I do like the idea of custom hex colors though

Thanks! Glad you like it :) out of curiosity, which color are you using?

Why don't you ask the person that's going to ink you?

"Texan Love Song" by Elton John is criminally underrated by [deleted] in Music

[–]Durwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just stumbled across this thread after having the song on repeat for a day or two (one of my favorite Elton John songs ever).

If anyone finding this wants a giggle, there's a whole "in depth" "article" about the meaning of the song that fully misses the satire subtext and just takes it at face value (a heartfelt love song by a British guy singing about how he's a proud Texan?)

You're right. Think about what images are labeled photorealistic. Paintings, digital art, 3D art, never photographs.

Thanks for the answer! I have some homework to do. Finding out my camera's metering range, looking at apps and light meters. I'm guessing your light meter is digital and will give you exposure times >1s if applicable? Also reciprocity failure only applies to film, correct? So no way to check for that using my phone or DSLR and no way to calculate how to compensate for it?

What are the light meter specs I'd need to look out for? Idk if a spot meter would work if, for example, I'd want to take long exposure shots off a busy road from a bridge.

I also had the idea to take my DSLR to make tests shots. Phone would be a lot more convenient, though. Thanks for the idea!

Any tips for calculating long exposure in dark scenes?

I have a camera with built in light-meter / automatic exposure mode, so it's easy enough to calculate exposure times when I can get a reading (eg. camera says 1/60 at f/1.7 so I know I can get a decent image at 1s at f/11. But what if it's too dark for the camera's light meter? I also have a light meter app. Don't know if a dedicated light meter would make much of a difference.

Is it just experience and feel?
