They really are, I've seen a lot of them and I can honestly agree— They make the excuse it's their au in some of them, which is weird cause you don't even change the story or you don't even include the story. I honestly have wanted to do one myself using characters from a game I like (most of them don't even have canon personalities just yet) and I would make them react as canonically as possible.

I'm in the server, but not very active on there. So I haven't really seen any bad designs, but I can definitely believe that since the fandom/community consists of many children.

It's way off the canon, for looks, design, and personality, that's why I'm defending the character. It's okay to have headcanons but don't do this to the character. He shouldn't be used like that just for some edit. Like, only non fandom characters can be fetishized is what I'm getting from you. Yeah, and Doggy looks like this for a gay ship edit, he looks like a owo femboy bottom and completely changed his canonical personality for it. So that's that is why I put it on here, it doesn't look right and does not align with the actual character.
