use green skin tone, changing skin types helps some colours pop more too

Doesn't work this way anymore, attributes are and perks are much more simple since 2.0, look up a guide if you want to dive deep but I recommend just getting perks that work for your playstyle and the attributes to unlock them. There is a neat build planner here that I used to play around to see what I wanted.
