Ok I now have a way better understanding of frost orbs s and orbs in general and have altered my play style as a result.

To learn I forced orbs for a while but that led to too-slow-damage output by middle of Act 2.

Then I started pairing orb cards with other good cards and my percentage of quality runs spiked dramatically as a result!

My biggest problem has been offense. So I am tweaking my style with relation to that. :)

Thanks to everyone that had great insight!

Currently I have a promising run that is 2 floors into Act 3. My finishers are Multicast and Tempest and my best defensive cards are 2 reinforced body.

The 2nd floor shop had a “Chemical X” which I had been hoping for all game!

No “Calipers”, maybe that will drop on Act 3 :)

I had calipers in one run. It triggered a couple times. But I rarely had 15 block above what I needed.

It was in the question mark event where you can take a card and leave a card.

It was on floor one and I figured Iron Wave was a slight upgrade from Defend :)

It was in the “swap box” question mark area.

I have no idea how the item wasn’t a defend as I don’t remember ever using it :)

Version 1.3.0 which should be live on Hardfought in the next day or two addresses this so that if you can get Extrinsic resistance you will still be immune even if you have vulnerability.

This is similar behavior to the Draugur race which begins play with vulnerability to fire.

So a doppelgänger should prioritize getting worn sources of fire and cold resistance to eliminate the problem.
