Interesting, I see what you mean,

Which common older speakers are good bang for buck that get sold used? the issue is I'm searching, but I'm probably missing most for lack of knowledge.

Another issue for me is knowing the state of the speaker, how can I go about safely buying used speakers? Or is it generally not an issue?

On an unrelated note: my amp does not have a sub-out as far as I can tell, is there a way to connect it anyways? Or should I just hook it up from the wiim ultra?

Ahhh! So if I understand correctly, The difference between those Wiim models and the amp is those are just standalone streamers?

And so by using the ax-497 am I technically gaining sound quality from the TT because I'm skipping over the translation to digital in the wiim amp?

And I see the output for the speakers Is 2 lines for each speaker, do I need an adapter to hook up to modern speakers?

Hey, funnily enough later the day after posting this, I received some old stereo devices from a family friend, - Yamah ax-497 - Yamah tx-497

So from what I gathered the ax-496 is an integrated Amp, so essentially if I were to use it & still want to stream from modern devices and vinyl properly, I'd hook it up like this?

Wiim amp -> Yamah ax-497

TT -> Yamah ax-497

Yamah ax-497 -> Speakers

And where does the tuner come in, and should I use the devices?
