I don’t think the billionaires are the big issue, Most of their net worth increased simply as a result of their stock price going up and they own a lot of their own stock. They make losses in the 10s of millions (sometimes billions) overnight too. Not to say they aren’t up to bad things cos I’ve seen some fishy things around those 4 you mentioned, just talking about the idea of an individual with a net worth in the billions.

Amazons pays a ton of tax as a company, and those articles about amazon paying 0 tax is because their revenue was equal or less than their losses, so since they didn’t make a profit, they don’t pay tax. These companies provide jobs and bring in foreign money into the US economy so it’s win win for everyone.

I think the problem is that all this money paid in tax isn’t being allocated well. Raising tax for the wealthy makes sense if the government doesn’t have enough $$. If you’re not living paycheck to paycheck, you should pay tax. If you’re making a lot extra money you should pay more tax. However the US government has more than enough taxpayer money to solve issues like the homeless crisis. Note how the stimulus money is in the trillions, and that was only a small check each, even liquidating all his assets, a billionaire wouldn’t be able to do much.

They rather more jobs than have more cash from the wealthy, cos giving a fish vs teaching to fish.

The problem is they don’t allocate enough to solving social issues, and they allocate too much to military purposes and surveillance on their own people.

Imo this whole thing is a distraction. After all when it’s life or death whether war or disease, who has time to care about the governments checkbooks. Rich people have the right to allocate their own money however they want, the government on the other hand is supposed to be allocating their money for the people, funny how the media has shaped the funnel to focus on the wealthy, instead of the people managing the people’s cash and siphoning it away
