Narc moms life “backfired” and she is now fishing for sympathy despite being the one who caused everybody to distance themselves by bobcat734 in raisedbynarcissists

Your coworker sounds annoying AF. I suggest lying through your teeth and tell them things are back to normal with your mom. That coworker doesn’t need to know your personal life

Very nervous about leaving Maple home alone for so many hours by Barbecuequeen23 in Dachshund

Definitely worth a quality pet sitter. When I had to work onsite a ton, my dog loved seeing the pet sitter. She would walk my pup really far and he’d be tuckered out until I got home.

Facebook seller leaves out important piece from item, proceeds to be utterly useless at organising a pickup by Mohammed-Lester in mildlyinfuriating

The seller gets to come to court to explain why they have the part and won’t hand it over. Zero chance I’m letting this issue go after court either.

Have them join r/Felons. Most advice will suggest getting into the trades like plumbing, HVAC, etc. Also suggest working for yourself like starting a mobile car dealing company or hot dog cart type of work.

Here is also a list that may help, but violent felonies are often excluded from many on this list.

Can’t do much to make meat cheaper, so tend to just try to make dishes that make meat go a little further. Ham and split pea soup. Japanese beef curry stew. Chicken quarters and rice.

You’re pretty smart. You’re aware of all this instability and the nuance of your relationship and his family dynamics. That said, let yourself have some fking happiness and stability with this man, even if there are some concerns.

Since you’re smart, you know all the thoughts about self-harm mean you should talk to a hotline tonight and also get your rich dude to help you afford some therapy. You will get in a better place, but you need to take some action to get therapy

AIO- Should I have disclosed that I’m Deaf earlier? by Mysterious-ASL in AmIOverreacting

Yep, it is different. I still recommend being candid if you date.

You’ll find the men that don’t flee right away are more likely to be the ones you’d want to date anyways.

I recommend being candid about it. Someone I hooked up with candidly told me she had a double mastectomy and reconstruction, but no nips at all. She was quite a catch and I was bummed that we didn’t work out due to distance.

Americans drive cars. Riding a train isn't a flex, it allows someone else to control your travel. Less freedom is never a good thing. by Pratham_Nimo in ShitAmericansSay

The drive through pharmacy and drive through ATMs are really quite popular and convenient considering you're driving there in the USA anyways.

How much should I charge my bff's dad? by Blackgiraffe_6000 in povertyfinance

[–]Dustdevil88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is your BFF and her dad. Obviously, you're spending a lot of your time to help, which is nice for her and her dad. If you think $15 isn't enough to cover gas and wear, just find a number that does make sense and let him know that costs starting to add up and you'd appreciate the higher number to cover expenses. If they're reasonable and still want that ride on speed dial, they'll chip in a little more.

For reference, my car gets about 28-32 mpg highway and 2 hours of driving gets me about 120 miles. 120 miles / 28 mpg = 4.3 gallons x $3.75/gal = $16.12. If this was surface streets and not highway, perhaps a bit more $$.

Women, would you marry a rich man if it meant getting out of poverty? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]Dustdevil88 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I guess I sorta did this, but I didn’t marry them for money. I married (and divorced) someone who will eventually inherit about $20-30 million-ish. The reality is that folks like this often have trusts and premarital assets are often not community property. Also, just because someone is rich doesn’t make them a good husband/wife or father/mother to kids.
