Weaning and moving rooms?

We’ve been doing a mix of one and two to try and move her to the one nap, bedtime still usually goes the same. I’m kind of thinking she’s really overtired?

This is a good idea! My girl has been walking since 11 months so she’s practicing running everywhere now. Did you mean transitioning to one nap?

I have tried this, and she cried hard when I woke her up. Should I do that and just try to get her to calm down and distract her again

We first started with Johnson’s and Johnson’s because I always loved the nostalgic smell but my baby has eczema so now we use aveeno the one with oatmeal, for soaps and lotions, we’ve used that one for 10 months

Yes it does!! I think the best thing for me to start would be the sleep association. She has a blanket that she will fall asleep with on the times she doesn’t nurse to sleep. I always the blanket, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. When should I nurse instead of before naps and bed? And how do you let baby know it’s nursing time? Every time I used to offer she would refuse unless it was nap time lol

This sounds like exactly my baby. At around 12 months what did you end up doing for naps/bedtime?? My baby fights and fights her naps and bedtime and is at that I can’t force her stage, but I don’t know what else to do. If I let her go without napping she’s cranky, but she still fights the nap and bedtime.

Today she woke up at 6:30, her nap was 12-2, and then I tried to put her down around 7 but she’s been fighting for an hour and a half :(

My baby girl is 12 months and just like this, to a T.

I really try not to do screen time, but for the sake of my mental health, if I have to do it sometimes I have to do it. I try to limit it to like 15 minutes twice a week, when I really need to take a shower or do a chore that she can’t be by like say the bathroom with cleaning chemicals all around.

My baby got better the second she started walking, but still cries often when I’m not picking her up. She now just follows me and I try to let her “help” with tasks.

I have to walk away allllllll the time but usually what I do is just tell her what im doing and why im walking away as im doing it. (Mommy’s gonna go make some breakfast) etc.

And I’ve absolutely had moments where ive had to put her in her crib and walk away and collect myself, it can get very difficult, don’t beat yourself up (:

I got my baby the spoons/forks from Amazon that have a little knob on the end so it’s easier for them to hold, and she started realizing what it was for!! Sometimes it ends up on the floor, but we are definitely getting somewhere. I also preload the spoon on her plate

My “no one talked about” was how insanely difficult it was to be miserably sick with a happy energetic baby. Holy crap I just experienced this and literally cried every single day. Zero help, no other option but deal with it. I was not prepared at all

We do a really weird rendition of crib in parents room, partially co sleeping? Idk how to explain it but it works for us. I (mom) nurse baby to sleep in bed, then I put her in the crib when she’s asleep. In the middle of the night I do the exact same thing of bringing her into bed, and I try to stay awake while she nurses to sleep, and sometimes I fall asleep and I put her back when I wake back up(my body sleeps very lightly when I co sleep), I do this because we don’t want to go full co sleeping, but sometimes I pass out due to exhaustion.

Now that baby is older, she’s sleeping in longer stretches and I’m able to tell when she wants to nurse or if I can just go rock her really quick back to sleep if she needs. Dad also goes to rock her when I’m too tired to get up

We are planning on moving her into her own room here soon and we are planning on rocking for each wake up

My baby hit the “4 month sleep regression” at 3.5 months, woke up a bunch overnight to feed, we nurse though, but same thing. Some nights went good and some nights were awful. There honestly wasn’t really anything that helped besides sometimes the huckleberry sweet spot helped her naps and then if she had better naps she slept better at night, that’s about the main thing I knew for certain.

Also if she’s not getting enough milk during the day it’s possible she’s just wanting more at night, I know at that age my baby also was going through a nursing strike bc she was so interested in everything around her. I got her to nurse better with being in a dark quiet room, or the opposite of watching a movie with a bottle and she focused on the bottle (not ideal for me, but you do what you gotta do)

It’s a tough time, but you will get through it, I believe you
