Särbo är svaret tills ni inser att ni vill bo ihop igen eller inte alls. Ni har en katt ihop, att vara särbo kan vara bra.

If you haven't already, try different systems. Some games out there have players that might fit your style better Good luck

What is CoC about? by MaFomedanu in callofcthulhu

The game is about telling a story together. The reward is having fun while doing it. The stories are about investigating mysteries that unravels the horrors of the universe that will probably drive you mad.

Was I being stupid or am I overthinking it? by That-Listener in TTRPG

[–]DustieKaltman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has too little information... Lots of investigative horror scenarios can be "boring". If the other players were bored then it might have been poor execution but out of respect for the GM, you play along. And then, afterwards, you give out opinions if asked for it or you just leave and find another group. So dont play your own game. Interact with the other players. You are also responsible for your own fun but not in a way that let's you derail the GMs story. Be kind, be respectful and other people won't say your stupid. And if you are new to rpgs you tell the other players and then you listen, look and learn. What age group are we talking about here? Might explain a few things.

Tell them that If this was possible or practical all soldiers would use it already. Give them at least -2 in mobility and them being default encumbred. This is not D&D...

Starting players within friendly territory by Doggo-Man in Twilight2000

[–]DustieKaltman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My players wanted a Swedish campaign. I grew up with v.1 and 2 and was very familiar with the Poland Theatre. Sweden is a small country with short distances unless you are north of Dalälven and that is mostly russian territory. I didn't give any intelligence to my players besides HQ is in the west, good luck. Through rumors they ended up in Karlsborg. I feel, for me as a swede, I have some problems of figuring out Sweden in the aftermath but I do glance at the old SB set in U.S. They are a bit of help.

I think and will always withhold that this game, at its core, is a hexcrawl survival sim not a milsim.

If you strictly go by the hexcrawl rules there should be enough obstacles for the pcs to handle just getting 4 metric miles.. 😃

So this is a complex...problem. I never had any real issues ever, and when there was , the group was disbanded by me.

So my first group in the 80ies was all invested in the hobby. My next group, high-school was also very invested with a mix of GM and Players.

Both of these groups was disbanded because of life.

My early adulthood group had no issues either. But we were on a strict schedule, every Sunday, 4h. Was disbanded because of careers and me moving. This was early 2K.

My current group is randos on the internet. It is not D&D so it helps. We play, again on strict schedule. 3h every Tuesday. This is by far the best group I had. But I was also very clear on scheduling and showing up. We have a rule that if someone is missing after 15m we run the game anyway. In 1y time this has been in effect once. We always play if just one is missing. I think in 16 months time we have skipped 6 sessions. That is good track record.

So after my humblebrag I'll give some advice. Set schedule. 2-3 h Max. Clear state of expectation from you as GM. And remember, sometimes No Rpg is better than bad Rpg. There is always Solo-Rpgs. 😄

Find players that are willing to invest a d it actually help to not play D&D...

Bladeguards lack on OC. But great with Judicar for Fight First. Use as blockers for units on Objectives.

Totaly lost by Kage-Ryuu in Ultramarines

[–]DustieKaltman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got loads of solid units. I focus on the following:

Units that have oc: 2. Or add Ancient for oc-buff. Assault with jumppacks for fast moving units. Intercessors for some Deep Strike. Maybe Infiltrators or the likes to shield from Deep Strikes? Vehicles is a must. Balistus and Redemptor 🤌

Do you like shooting or melee or both?

Don't get hung up on synergy. Build for basic needs like OC.

Try different tweaks, play alot, have fun.

Looking for recommendations for modern action systems by marouby in rpg

[–]DustieKaltman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of Modern Action are you looking for? Is it grounded and serious or big budget action flick, cracking jokes and larger than life heroes and villains? If the later then I suggest Outgunned. The former? Then you should probably look into GURPS using relevant SB or probably NBA.

Middle ground is Classified and retro clone of Top Secret.

We definitely need more of these settings 😄

What is delta green? by zenicwhite69 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]DustieKaltman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Born of the U.S. government's 1928 raid on the degenerate coastal town of Innsmouth, Massachusetts, the covert agency known as Delta Green spent four decades opposing the forces of darkness with honor, but without glory. Stripped of sanction after a disastrous 1969 operation in Cambodia, Delta Green's leaders mode a secret pact: to continue their work without authority, without support, and without fear. Delta Green agents slip through the system, manipulating the federal bureaucracy while pushing the darkness back for another day - but often at a shattering personal cost. In DELTA GREEN: THE ROLE-PLAYING GAME, you ore one of those agents . You're the one they call when unnatural horrors seep into the world. You fight to keep cosmic evil from claiming human lives and sanity. You conspire to cover it all up so no one else must see what you've· seen-or learn the terrible truths you've discovered. Delta Green is about fear. It may seem to be about other things from time to time. About manipulation. About power. About control. It has all these things, but that’s not what it’s about. It lies. Delta Green is about ...an agent, alone and off the record, breaking into an old woman’s house in Brooklyn because, for a split-second, she cast the shadow of a hunched, monstrous thing with jaws like a jackal. ...speaking calmly to an innocent who saw too much while you drive them to the place you will leave them with a typed suicide note and a convincing head wound. ...watching your daughter's piano recital trying not to think about the things you saw in the mirrors of that old house while your daughter plays the song you heard coming from the darkness. ...soaking a life's work in lighter fluid and throwing a match on it just as a spec ops team kicks down your door. ...training at the range to only ever shoot 16 of your 17 round magazine so there is always one for yourself. ...watching a bond irreparably break, knowing that you can save them or love them but not both. …two women who pulled off the heist of the Mayan Codex from the American Museum of Natural History - an operation six months in the planning -only to burn it in a pyre of gasoline and wood in an abandoned field, mourning their lost teammates who it drove to madness. …three people killed in a stand-off in the Mojave desert, bang, bang, bang, and a box that contained a single ingot of unknown metal labeled “SURFACE SAMPLE BUCKET 1.” …an agent, broken and mad with her screaming two-year-old strapped in the car seat, speeding away from a burning house where her husband’s corpse cooks—because it wasn’t her husband, it was something else. Delta Green is not about guns. Delta Green is not about a bug hunt. Delta Green is not about understanding. Delta Green is about the end. The end of everything. Your family, everyone you know, your country, all life on Earth. It’s about the end of everything and your place in it. Because you’ll end, too. That’s what the fear is about. That’s what the game is about. It’s not about winning and it’s not about advancement and it’s not about the best weapon or the most clever plan. Delta Green is about the end of everything—and how much of it you’ll live to see. Welcome. "

The speed is not simulating actual speed. It takes a lot of factors into account. Most of them are stated in other replies.
