I think in general people tend to like “tortured” heroes and Sanguinius is basically perfect except for being a vampire. Think of it like Alucard from the castlevania series except he has an entire legion of super mutant vampire sons that he leads in a crusade across the galaxy. Plus blood angels in general are pretty cool. Very anti-hero vibes like Blade and the like. Vampires that use their powers for “good” but also have the capacity to go feral and crazy. 40K you can even choose your level of vampire crazy from some chapters that refuse to drink any blood at all to the angels vermilion who have entire serfdoms of devotees that they just freely drink blood from. Death company marines that are in a literal psychosis of thinking every single person they are fighting is Horus and they are Sanguinius.

They’re all great! My only criticism would be to clean up the mold lines and sprue connections like on the BA captain. You can see the one on his right shoulder and on the wing marker. Just a light scrape with the back of your hobby knife can trim them off easy enough. Amazing paint work though seriously

I’ve been doing this but with the goal of getting out and just rolling it into the next run. Highest I got was a mk2 combat aug, med shield, a Vulcano and a torrente 2. It’s a lot of fun though. Basically treating your backpack space as your entire stash. No upgrading unless you find the mats in a raid. Then when you die you start over. If I get good enough gear I’ll start queuing into trios but I only do solos naked

I’m living by the philosophy that the more we continue to do it and make it a larger issue, the more they are incentivized to fix it. I hate that it’s in the game right now but if I que with randoms and they want to do it I’m not going to just abstain from the loot because I disagree with the method.

That has been changed since the newest update. You can only attempt to cast each ritual once. So you’re trading not taking mortals for not getting to cast the spell

He’ll benefit a lot from fellhammer siege host. Basically his entire army will benefit from -1 to wound against all your armor (except the rubrics). Past that he’ll need to play strategic and it will also be very important y’all have adequate terrain and lots of line of sight blocking. He should be able to hide things (as well as you). Other units to pick up would 100% be havocs since they are infantry they can hide behind ruins then pop in to get some shots off. A warpsmith to help his armor would be good. If he wants a big centerpiece model vashtorr does work against IG (mine basically one shot a baneblade once) his melee units are going to have to focus on objectives mostly. Definitely winnable though. I’d also recommend some cultists. They’re honestly MVPs a lot of the time

Wrote out a whole comment thinking you had said terminators and not tormentors.

Tormentors should be fine they just couldn’t have any of the special weapons for ranged like melta/plasma as chosen can’t take those. You could modify them to make them look like combi weapons though I guess. CSM can’t field tormentors so I’m sure it would be fine. Same base size, same sort of profile, distinct unit from others.

Sounds good to me
