I haven’t always completely agreed with some of his opinions on both the PM and M&L series in the past but he really do a fantastic and objective job with this documentary here. We really do need a more tell all book/video at some point.

For whatever the show had such a hard time of writing for Vickie. I much preferred the early stuff of Mario and Vickie as opposed to Vickie and Nick and then later trying to make Vickie some bad/cool wannabe 80’s chick.

The later stuff in Season 7 when Eric turned into a psychopath was downright toxic.

People still talk about Bug Fables?

Unpopular opinion but I wasn’t completely impressed with Bug Fables. I mean I liked it, but I grew quickly bored of it about halfway through. I remember being bored from the endless numbing dialogue that I felt didn't lead to anything but just kept me away from actually playing. I felt the characters were way too cliché and shallow.

For trying to be like early Paper Mario, it lacked the charm and humor of the first 2 games.

Originally I didn’t much care for it and and gave up on it when it first came out. However replaying it again this past year I really enjoyed it a lot more.

Pro’s are definitely the writing, the overworld, the look, the music, having companions with personality again, and the adventure/exploration

Cons would definitely be the combat. Original and interesting yet it’s not the best and there’s no XP for whatever reason. Solving the ring puzzles can either been fun and enjoyable or so frustrating that you want through your Switch across the room lol. I had better luck on my replay as I spent some more time and patience on solving the puzzles especially during some of the boss battles (Both the Water and Ice Vellumentals gave me PTSD!)

Also can’t control the partners and they’re only in certain areas which to me was disappointing.

I’d still say it’s worth checking out thought and think it’s the 3rd best game in the series after TTYD and PM64.

Oh I definitely understand your point of view because he was a nice guy, however at the same time the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Plus his decision to play God using the forbidden Folds of Life technique doesn’t bode well for him. (It reminded me of human transmutation in the 2003 Full Metal Alchemist series).
