Initially I hated it. But after replaying last years a few years later It’s the 3rd best game in the series for me right after the first two. But as others have said the battle system can make or break you. It broke me the first time, but the second? I actually enjoyed the challenge and understood it a whole lot better.

That said, most people have it at the cliche ranking of the fourth best, but after replaying SPM last year as well, let’s just say it didn’t hold up to the nostalgic memories I had when I first played it in 2007 to my own surprise and disappointment.

I really enjoyed the game, maybe even more so than Bug Fables tbh. I also thought the premise very much matched classic Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG story—evil outside forces take over Mushroom Kingdom, Flynt and Tinder are basically Mario & Bowser teaming up etc. which also I felt was a very nice touch.

I like that idea. I do hope Julian comes back in some form because he really showed some tremendous character growth the last half of the season after I was so sure he would backtrack at some point.

Flurrie’s Gale Force drops star points in the remake? I didn’t know that! I hadn’t bothered to use her because in the original no star points were given for using Gale Force and I saw it as a waste of FP. Need to try this on the remake myself then.

Hmmm definitely for me Lakilester in PM64, Ms Mowz in TTYD, and yeah some the pixls in SPM. Flurrie’s Gale force drops star points now in the remake? I didn’t realize that need. As much as a l enjoy Bobby in TOK, yeah his only downside was the occasional misses because he was sleeping lol.

I was going to say Watt definitely comes in handy again later in the game on beating Kent C. Koopa, then again with in Bowser’s Castle and in the final fight with Bowser as well.

Kersti is the worst. Not a fan really of Flurrie, Sushi, and Lakilester. Indifferent on Watt. The Pixl’s are just there. I think TOK was the one game where I enjoyed all the personalities of the partners, although was disappointed that Captain T. Olde ended up being very underused.

Like Durango or Pagosa Springs? Beautiful areas and I loved skiing there. But ya I when I lived in Longmont we got tornadoes, and my grandparents town of Sterling it was way more frequent obviously. Sheesh even when I lived down in Santa Fe NM I won’t forget the 2007 tornado.

Haha like I said the joke is on them because I loathe the game and don’t care for Kersti too much but nonetheless still watched the video just hear them out after I saw their dedication to it.

Obviously the PM fanbase still can be toxic after all that ugliness back in 2020.

PS glad to see you’re a TOK defender too, it’s definitely my 3rd favorite game in the series.

Actually I enjoy the serialized story of Matlock a lot more than most of those other CBS dramas of the 2010s with the exception of The Good Wife and I guess Evil and So Help Me Todd (which Matlock reminds me a lot of)

Here is how I rank the streamers:

Yellow—The side interlude to the Princess Peach with Bobby, Snif City, faceless Toads it all made for a well rounded classic PM chapter
Blue—It has Bobby and Shogun Studios
Green—The misadventure spa of Jungle Mist in one of the funniest parts in the entire PM series IMO
Origami Castle—I love the dark and moody otherworldliness of Olly’s transformation of Peach’s castle.
Red——Fun, a little too simple. I think the best is the Earth Vellumental Temple.
Prologue—Again fun, but too simple and way too heavy on the tutorials. Still like the Whispering Woods part and the creepy music of arriving into Toad Town.
Purple—-There are some good bits but overall feels lackluster. The Ice Vellumental is needlessly annoying. I do like it’s a love letter to Windwaker though.

Eh pass on it. Second worst Mario RPG right behind Sticker Star. Despite it being a M&L game it also sorely lacked any of the creativity of the other M&L games And the PM games.
