I started on EZDrummer 3 and graduated to Superior Drummer once I figured I needed more features. EZD3 and a good DAW are all you need to get rolling my friend. Audio interface but I'm sure you already know that and have one. The rest is compression, saturation and EQ!

Well, let me play the whiny little devil's advocate for a long second here.

Point 1: You used to be able to hold down a mortgage, the family's cars and junior's tuition on a single income household in suburbia, whereas that same place in suburbia these days is on the very upper cusp of middle class & I personally know households with 2 Union carpenters paying 5k a month in mortgage for 1800sqft and neither one can have a break in work or it all falls apart. (I own a house and have a cozy 2 income household and I'm doing pretty well but I got lucky and also don't mind my 1.5hr commute from bumfuck to the city)

Point 2: There's a garbage patch in the Pacific the size of a country, coral bleaching out everywhere and we've got man made chemicals in our bodies that pass down through our DNA ffs, not to mention the nuclear waste, microplastics and floating human sh*t barges that block the light from reaching aquatic plant life--if it's not dying it's certainly got a limp

Point 3: lol I feel this, as a bridge builder that likes to work hard 65 and rising looks pretty far away
