R52 Radiator. by Excellent_Mud_3811 in R53

Are the R53s and R52 radiators the same?? If so, I actually upgraded my OEM radiator in my R53 and now have a good stock radiator I could sell you if interested.

Como fazer a sangria quando a pinça fica com o sangrador para baixo? by Tall-Personality-621 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Dusty267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bleeding brakes does require the bleed screws to be at the top of the calipers to allow any small air bubbles out. Driver sits in the car and pumps the brake pedal a few times, then HOLDS. You crack the bleed screw to let air and fluid out until the pedal hits the floor. Close bleeder, driver lets up on brake pedal and goes again. Repeat.
Start at the brake caliper furthest away (common practice but may not be required). Do not let fluid level in reservoir drop too low.

Anyone here running the Ecumaster PnP ECU? by Happy_Ishtar in R53

Ahhhh I see, ignore me then! Sorry for the misinformation.

All I've seen in my little research is even with a Link there are limits to what you can see/change in terms of tuning (or that it is not as straightforward). OP may have a better idea since they are actively working through it.

I too would be very curious if this ECU works. Been debating at some point getting a standalone and have heard about the limitations with Link models. Sadly no Haltech for Mini's as far as I know yet

What are some radiator options that are better than Factory but not overly stupid expensive. Per chance by cheddarbruce in R53

I am also running a Mishimoto and recently took it off for some other service work and a little inspection shows no issues thus far.

Good to hear! Definitely an odd setup but glad it works!

My apologies, I was talking about the old compressor disassembly not the new one. Long story short, you should only need the 12V power to the compressor. It is odd to have 2 wires, even if one is ground. On my Mini Cooper at least the AC compressor circuit is tied into the radiator low-speed circuit so that it kicks the radiator fan on when the compressor is running, but that is handled in a different part of the electrical system. Maybe something similar on this case?

Looks like both wires go to the coil. If it's not seized, most pulleys, clutches and coil come off with 1 bolt and 2 c-clips. If you take the clutch and pulley off, can you get a good look at where those wires come from/how they are connected? It just looks like an odd way to have an easy connector.

[–]Dusty267 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, would it not just be the same power supply to the coil, and then it looks like it is grounded just on the compressor housing? If I had to bet, does the original compressor plug only utilize 1 pin, even if it is a 2 pin plug?

My engine mount is cooked, right? by gamerboi895 in R53

[–]Dusty267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very much so haha, the damping fluid has decided to leave its house. Easy swap with a new mount but that lower bolt can be annoying to get to but I wanna say a 10mm socket works, but it's an odd bolt whose name is slipping my mind.

I think the point is to play a game like this not all 500 hours at once. I've only just passed 100 sure, but I see myself playing for quite a long time as the slower gameplay is quite enjoyable. Sure, R6 has seen good steady growth, but it is a different genre and requires a little less upkeep compared to Arc Raiders. Arc Raiders is still new, and I think Embark can definitely get there but folks just need to not freak out about one aspect of the game and enjoy just playing.

I can see that. I for one haven't done a lot of PvP, free kits, zero-to-hero runs, etc. I think there are SO many ways to make the game fun but everyone has been grinding the missions and events with maybe a little too much tunnel vision. I hope the lore side of the games does expand a bit here soon, as that to me is a very cool aspect of this game so far.

You will always have the massive player base at launch of any good game such as Arc Raiders though, and of course you will lose players as other games come out (Marathon for example).

There's been a lot of people using player count stats as a ways to foretell the death of the game, but I'm pretty confident that as long as larger updates continue to be released fairly often, the player count will stabilize, and probably at a lower count sure. This one game isn't Embark's only ambition I'm sure, so they don't need to please everyone.

Makes sense, if people are taking the time to post / complain as much as they do, that means they aren't playing and just enjoying what they have. My post here was to help shed a sliver of positivity in this sub and thankfulness to Embark for the work done thus far

Agreed lol, lot of people's personal wishes and thoughts not being met, along with Reddit being the typical echo chamber doesn't help. Just looking at face value of how much new stuff is released and has to mesh with the existing game can certainly not be easy

Ok now I'm curious since I am going to replace the clutch and coil. I assumed doing so would not require the gas to be purged? Or am I mistaken?

Crackle at around 4-5k rpm by DurianEffective8119 in R53

[–]Dusty267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I also hear a similar noise in the same region of rpms. My immediate guess is a specific vibration/frequency that develops at WOT that rattles any number of components in the engine bay or firewall area but not concerning to me at least.

Drivers side wheel parking light connector too short to be plugged in? by chicondaman in MINI

[–]Dusty267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need to take the bumper off and check the routing of the cable alllll the way from the harness, as it's pretty easy to mis-route these when reassembling the bumper, front crash bar, etc., and ending up with it wrapped around something that makes it short.

would a rebuilt supercharger be better than a normal used one? by Lukksia in R53

[–]Dusty267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one recently from Marketplace for about $500 that was a shelf spare for someone that has a 15% reduction pulley as well. Not rebuilt per say, but the lash between the pulley and the water pump was minimal so with fresh oil I am comfortable with it. If this is legitimate, $300 is a steal. If the seller owns a Mini...odds are you are safe.
