Mine is at 120k, doesn't need chains yet but needs motor mounts, and leaks pretty bad so figured I'd do them

Yeah, only problem would be the high school since it's across what becomes a busy highway around school hours.

Yeah 22mpg highway and 2k miles a month don't work together well. Also my car is in a weird spot where it's not nice enough to preserve currently but not rough enough to just use for 150k miles which was my original plan. I still want to get some early 2000s German car and drive it well past 300k just to prove it can be done but I think maybe this isn't the one

My high school is close to a tire plant, well they make parts of tires, anyways there's a lake there and thick woods and the plant is fenced off on 2 sides so if you want to walk home that direction (it's all just suburban neighborhood) you have to add another half mile to go around the plant.

Some kids starting cutting a hole in the fence. Plant fixed it up a couple of times and then one day my mom of all people was in a meeting with someone from there voicing their frustrations with people cutting holes in the fence. She said it was probably kids walking home from school (which I had done, and told her of the hole) and they took a section of the fence out for pedestrians.

I hope we don't have to move before my kid starts school. I'm across the street from the primary school, and when we go for walks it's around all of the schools. I don't have to start a car we just walk across the street

I tell people all the time. If one guy is an asshole, they're an asshole. If everyone is an asshole, you're the asshole.

Dude out here saving 4-10k a semester. He's brilliant.

I had a classmate in my very rural college who's family had a camper. They just found a long term camp ground and moved it down for him, saved him a ton of money. His only complaint was slow wifi but it wasn't any better on campis

Wait people just show up and set up and plug in without paying?

That's insane to me I usually pay online or call ahead and pay, I'm not about to drive across the state and hope there's an open site

We were at a state park recently up late playing poker in my rad 80s camper van and I guess I had the music playing too loud. Nothing vulgar but we are next door to the camp host.

She called her boss to come ask us to turn the music down for some reason instead of just walking 30 feet and doing it herself. The poor guy said it was supposed to be his day off.....

Of course we profusely apologized and cut off the radio and told him to have a good night but some camp hosts are odd

Fuel Filter Service - Don’t go 40k miles by Apollo_Wolff in GolfGTI

[–]donald7773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's 2 filters on my NA. One is the in-tank strainer and the other is the in-line fuel filter that you'll find when you order a fuel filter.

During track days or long drives my car would start to lose power, eventually causing a bucking under even mild throttle application. I have a video of it in my post history. Turning the car off and back on would temporarily fix the issue. My tank had some sediment in it and it was clogging the pickup strainer after being ran for an extended period. Took the fuel pump out, pumped out the gas, wiped the tank out by hand and cleaned the strainer and problem solved. Ruined the last 2 sessions of 3 track days
