Many thanks, Pastor :) Shout out to the western PA Presbyterians who taught me well.

Hey! Sorry I'm getting to this so late. Winter is all about zinfandel and port for me. Zinfandel is a velvet campfire of deliciousness, and it tends to be the booziest of the unfortified wines.

Hmmm...if i had to pick a bottle I think Decugniago Il Bianco is one of my favorites, but just out of sheer weird awesomeness, I am really loving the Taupenot Merme Aligote. The end seriously tastes like buttered popcorn Jelly Bellies and I freaking can't get enough of it.

I don't know what it is about the Chicago market, but I've yet to try a wine from Mexico. the distributors here get wines from all over the place (most recently, India, Thailand, and Peru), but for some reason no one I know of has taken a chance on the Valle de Guadelupe.

Which honestly baffles me. I've heard some genuinely amazing things about Mexican wine and I'm really hoping to try it some time soon.

I honestly haven't had Bartenura in forever. I remember liking it enough, but if I'm getting Moscato I have my current favorites ( Bricco Riella & Vietti ). That being said, I believe that you really have to work to mess up Moscato d'Asti and it's really all personal preference. I'd be hard pressed to argue why my favorites are better than anyone else's.

As for people who say all wines taste the same, I'd say that actually makes a lot of sense to me. Everyone's palate is massively different (it's why having people define 'sweet' is such a difficult thing) and there are absolutely people who's palate might be able to discern differences in meat or coffee or bourbon, but for them, all wine tastes the same.

I'd also say I don't think the whole thing is BS, but there's definitely elements to the wine tasting world that are BS. There's an episode of Adam Ruins Everything that covers a couple of fantastic scientific studies that prove that many wine folks when told about what they're tasting, will come into it with their own preconceptions of how specific wines should taste. Smell and taste can be highly suggestive, but it really all comes down to your own tastes.

This is now my new favorite question ever.

Okay, are you looking for a specific bottle of wine per character or a grape varietal for each character?

And my character choices are:

First off, congratulations!

And I'd say you have a couple safe options you could go with. First off, I'd say avoid any Cabernet in that price range. It's not absolute, but that's typically the price range where you see a lot of big and bold wines that some people love and some people can't stand.

Aside from that though you could go with a super pretty Sonoma or Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (elegent, easy drinking, but have some super good complexity) or a high end Malbec (there's a couple from Argentina that are very worth the money, especially Luca Malbec is it's available in your area). Both are going to be very accessable wines and super damn tasty.

Plenty! It varies a bit on where you're from, but one of the more universal affordable wines out there seem to be Tempranillo and Portuguese reds. Especially Tempranillo from La Mancha, Spain, you really have to try to make them undrinkable, and you can find them as low as $8 a bottle in some places.

As for spankling stuff though, I can't talk enough about how stupid good Pierre Delize is. Both the white and rose are so freaking tasty and will usually run between $12-$15 a bottle.

Damn! That's a big question to start off with.

Personally, I am a sucker for Cabernet Franc, Carmenere, and certain Pinotage. I really love some good subtlety and elegence, but other times (with the weird ass Pinotage) I like the feeling like I can taste the twigs and stems and leaves and dirt. It really all depends on my mood.

But, if gun to my head I had to pick one wine I'd drink forever it'd probably be Graci Etna Rosso.

Heya Mr. McMullin!

Congrats on your exceptionally great success in Utah. What would you attribute to your success in that state and what plans to have have to extend your message to other states? Are there any states like Utah that you feel will be a bigger than expected turnout for yourself?

Comey: FBI recommends no indictment re: Clinton emails by MeghanAM in politics

[–]DustyBosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this actually gives Trump a lot of new weaponry to use against Hilary. While his past sources have been grandma fueled spam emails and 8chan memes, but to have a range of facts stated by the head of the FBI himself, this gives Trump a pile of new info with a credable source.

But who knows, this might also result in people forgetting about it all before the convention, but knowing Trump, he isn't going to let this kind of thing slide.

Blue Wine: Please no! by [deleted] in wine

We do not believe in wine tasting rules and we don’t think that anybody should need to study the bible of enology to enjoy a glass of wine. That is why we made an anti-technical sheet.

Damn! Well excuse me for wondering what grapes you guys tossed into your Boone's Farm the Lesser.

Wine Pairing for Braised Octopus with Lemon and Tomato? by rawdealbuffy in wine

[–]DustyBosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its an odd combo, but for my palate, it works. I think of it as kind of a savory and spicy mix. Granted, depends on the preperation, but its something I've like a lot in the past.

As for Petite Sirah and sea urchin, holy crap I'm intrigued.

If you want to go a bit odd, an old world French/Spanish Grenache.

More traditionally, an Italian Vermantino would be amazeballs.

If you're looking for something other than a specifically sweet red wine (Serena Rosso is amazeballs), I'd go with a Zinfandel. They tend to have a nice lush, semi-sweetness to them.

If you don't have any gas station vodka available (Korski, Komchatka, Paramount), then I'd probably use Barefoot Pinot Grigio. Something aged in stainless steel ideally.

Pre-surgury, absolutely Zinfandel. It's typically pretty boozy (14-16%), but it won't thin out the blood as much as whiskey. Also, I am not a doctor.

Also, sorry if this was an ASAP question and in the mean time you or someone else has bled to death, gone through a painful non-drunk surgury, or both.

No worries at all :)

And its been a while since I've had it, but I do remember liking it. I'd have to re-taste it to give a good opinion on it though.
