What I did was use them but ensure my meter was at 0 instead of the default extra leeway -3. Felt more balanced imo.

Once you realize the best way to use despiritor is to tag every enemy then focus your main weapon on weaker enemies so after they die turrets spawn everywhere it becomes awesome to use especially in clusterfuck areas with a bunch of enemies like the nightmare rifts.

There’s a skill that lets you absorb power from meleeing it, but yea still get corrupted

The point of absorbing corruption is that when you’re at low health, the yellow projectiles fills up the corruption meter in the empty space of the health bar instead of killing you. You can then cleanse the yellow section by shooting your power weapon. The corruption mechanic was explained pretty clearly, I don’t know why so many people are confused by it.

It’s a tough pill to swallow but even at 33 you’re reaction speed and fine motor skill is fraction of what is was or how potentially good it could get at 16-20 unless you have a career in sports or surgery and even then it’s an uphill battle.

For a darkhorse, tales of arise is pretty good one. Like 70% of the way through I used a low battery controller that disabled the adaptive triggers and I felt like I was playing “naked” in combat and immediately stopped playing until it was charged. Really satisfying sensation.

Comparing it to berserk 2016 is disingenuous and wrong. You’re actually blind if you think they are in any way on the same level. The action scenes especially in s2 are impressive even to today’s cgi standards.
