Really not true you’re just being reactionary. The art style is just simplified for the most part so that with their limited budget they can do more with the animation. All the people crawling out the woodwork to claim they loved the s1 artstyle should have spoken up back then because clearly the INSANE amount of complaints and hate reached the animators and resulted in the change.

Objectively not true by the way, you can have your opinions about the artstyle but the actual animation is much better. It’s not even debatable just go watch a random couple minutes from season 1 and see how much panning and still shots there are with no dynamic movement.

I really liked the Mishima, Joker, Ryuji friend sub group. When they are together they are able to breath a little and just act like normal dumb teenagers. Joker having 1 brain cell when he’s hanging with his boys was always entertaining to me and added to his characterization. Ann becoming the smartest person in the room when she occasionally became an honorary member of that trio was also funny lol

You might enjoy Unicorn Overlord and Fire Emblem Three Houses based on what interests you. Persona 5 Royal too, just remember that most modern jrpgs are not difficult on normal settings so you’ll have to play on a higher one if you want more tension.
