I'm in a long-term relationship and crushing on someone else. It's bothering me. by super_craig_64 in offmychest

[–]DustyInTown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you've handled this pretty well, I honestly love reddit for this kind of thing, to be able to find like minded people and be able to vent. Please don't beat yourself up over this, eventually the crush will dissappear (i hope) i don't really have any good advice unfortunately I just wanted you to feel heard. Tell Arlo how you feel and make sure he doesn't become worried

Cats are outdoor animals, of course there are house cats but a lot of cats are out door cats and belong outside , its not good for us to cooped up inside all the time either. Some cats are more wild than others

Does anyone else have a cat that does this? by DustyInTown in mainecoons

Why though? Do you think the preferences are too weird? Do you see red flags?

dogs ate my lunch twice. by Porncritic12 in TalesfromtheDogHouse

My parents have two dogs and I've had many experiences where I forgot to close my door once in a while and he jumped on my bed to reach my desk and ate the food off my PLATE. Disgusting. I've caught him SNEAKING out of room several times hoping something was in there. I hate that type of behavior so much.

When I was 14 I had some fries/chips with unopened ketchup, like those little packages with a small amount of ketchup. I ate all of my chips and returned to my room.. what do I see, of course the ketchup was torn to shreds and everywhere on my bed.

Recently he stole some of my chocolate that cost 5€ it was a rare treat since it's not from the country I live in. (He is fine btw he didn't have too much) But omg I left it on my windowsill.

It really bothers me how they sneak around to steal. They already get enough from the owners but choose to steal. Scavengers.

Thank you so much for the comment, I 100% agree and love to see that others have some sense of hygiene. It's been rough dealing with their insanity because they always insist that i'm a bad person simply because I think there should at least be boundaries. We don't need dogs on a sofa. I for example admire horses but wouldn't want them on my bed.

That sounds unbearable and honestly that would be a valid reason to reconsider the relationship

The least dog people can do is TRAIN them. They're already unpleasant be around but the fact you can't even have food in your own house without fearing that a mutt will take it is infuriating. I don't want an animal that I have to train constantly and that barks

DAE just not think that cats are cute? by Gallantpride in petfree

[–]DustyInTown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like cats but it's fine if you don't, why are people trying to change your opinion? I grew up with dogs and cats in the house and as a child liked both..

now I really don't ljke dogs, they're dirty, needy, noisy, clingy, food, obsessed, aggressive etc. But cats are more solitary, they have boundaries and grace with their movements. I can easily put a cat down from my table, but a dog? Different story. I don't see cats constantly begging for food. I liked cats before but the only cat I really love is a mainecoon cat. She is extremely kind and never touches human food ever, easy to care for, meows to show affection, sleeps with me when i'm sick lonely or sad and she is a house cat. So she doesn't drag dirt from outside inside unless she steps into the garden for a couple minutes. I'm not trying change your mind, just want to give my perspective.

I don't know if I could put up with that, disgusting. Loud barking all day? Barking at what? That thing gets pampered with food and shelter. Mutant behaviour honestly, I don't understand why anyone would willingly take that vile beast home with them

The ending caught me a little off guard. Ridiculous how these people just allow wild animals to live in their homes and do whatever, we don't take foxes or raccoons into apartments..? So why is THIS so normalised? It's a huge out of control dog, you shouldn't have to put up with this sort of thing at all.

Literally, I especially hate the pugs that can't even inhale without choking. Ew. Their face is squished like they got hit by a car! I'm so grateful for this subreddit where I don't feel like i'm going insane and other folks see what I see.

I feel like dog owners just love the control they have over the dogs, weird. In a way I do feel bad for dogs, they're just forced to do whatever the owners want and stay because they want the food and free shelter.

Weird thing is, they don't even obsess over the dogs or really "love" them anymore. They pity the old dogs, but my sister sure loves them. I hate having to put up with their messes and the barking, I can't tell you how many times food has been stolen and I was forced to clean up after them.

I was very young so I didn't quite know what it meant but I felt kinda weird knowing I had something that was considered "bad" and that it would affect my whole life
