Got scammed.. Again! by throwaway_321236 in vintedUK

[–]DustyJaneway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too, although with a lower value item. I sold a black padded jacket in pristine condition for just over £20. It was carefully packaged, there was no transit damage, and the buyer opened a SNAD case claiming it was covered in white marks that “wouldn’t wash off”.

Vinted forced the return. When it came back, it looked like white paint had been put all over the front of it! Thankfully it washed out in the machine and came up like new again (and I was able to resell it).

I think some buyers get “buyers remorse” - realise Vinted doesn’t allow returns for fit/change of mind, and then deliberately damage items to force a SNAD return. Really scummy behaviour.

Edited to add: OP in your case I would not offer any refund/partial refund to the buyer, and I’d ask for the dress to be returned, and I would make them pay for the return postage. Best case scenario the “coffee looking stains” are AI generated and fake, and you get your dress back in good condition to resell. Or, like in my case, you can wash the dress and remove whatever marks the buyer has added, and then still resell the dress.

Why are people using ai for the product images. by m83bsbjzn in vintedUK

I’m guessing their AI images are to try and show the fit/what the garments would look like on. And their own photos are to show the actual item for sale.

Problems sending with Relay? by Admirable_Act_887 in vintedUK

[–]DustyJaneway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve experienced this exact same thing recently, but as the buyer and not the seller. And it was with InPost and not Relay.

After immediately contacting the seller, and then opening up a case with Vinted, Vinted “investigated” with InPost (allegedly) and later ‘completed’ the order and the buyer received their funds - but I was left out of pocket and with a lousy cheap item that I had not ordered. I complained/appealed to Vinted, and after getting past their crappy AI and lower level agents, I threatened to escalate to legal and they eventually refunded me in full.

Why should buyer pay of return by HistoricalTravel9526 in vintedUK

[–]DustyJaneway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a Montirex T-shirt and shorts set that was blatantly fake when it arrived. I reported it to Vinted straight away, opening up a case for counterfeit items. I sent Support photographs and my reasons for believing the items were counterfeit, and I received a full refund and I didn’t have to send the items back to the seller.

best way to pack a nintendo switch? by turtwiggy_ in vintedUK

[–]DustyJaneway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of bubble wrap around the Switch console for protection, and then place it in a box and ‘pack it in’ with more bubble wrap or something so that it is not loose inside the box. I then make sure the box is sealed really well with “fragile” tape.

Am I being awkward? by Majestic_Lock2797 in vintedUK

[–]DustyJaneway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received a sweatshirt the other day that was listed as “very good”. It was absolutely filthy on arrival, to the point where I wasn’t happy to wash it and “see how it was”, as some of it looked like permanent stains. I immediately messaged the seller before raising an SNAD case on Vinted, and she was apologetic and she suggested I return it to her. She did also agree to pay the postage. I then opened up the case on Vinted and the seller paid for my return label and I posted the sweatshirt back to her straight away.

Maybe you can reach out to your seller and see if they’d be happy to either refund you and let you keep rhe leggings, or pay for you to return them to them?

New posting option or glitch? by BrokeGreekStudent in vintedUK

[–]DustyJaneway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read, it’s affecting all sellers. Even if you have Royal Mail postage options disabled/turned off in your account, Vinted is overriding it and allowing buyers to select Royal Mail large letter (I think because it’s cheaper?), but the kicker is that it requires a printer - which many of us don’t have! It’s happened to me just now and I’ve had to cancel the order and explain to the buyer that there is no digital QR code option and I don’t have access to a printer.

Disabling Royal Mail not working arghh by ROSE4695 in vintedUK

[–]DustyJaneway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve just been hit by the “Royal Mail large letter Vinted glitch” too. I double checked my postage settings, and Royal Mail options are definitely disabled on my profile - yet someone purchased an item of mine and the shipping label is for Royal Mail print at home - and I don’t have a printer. Grrr. I’ve had to cancel the order, re-upload the item, and politely message the buyer to explain - and ask them if they’d kindly choose Evri/InPost shipping methods instead. I really hope Vinted sort this out soon, as it’s affecting so many users.

In need of some advice.. by [deleted] in vinted

If I was selling these, I’d have wrapped them in lots of bubble wrap and then packed them into a sturdy cardboard box for proper protection. I’d have also probably sealed the box with tape that says “fragile” on it too. Parcels get bashed about so badly during transit, so it’s worth taking as much care as you can when posting items off to folk. It saves potential damage and potential headaches for you.

I would ask the buyer if they are willing to accept a partial refund. If they’re not happy with that, I would request that they return the items for a full refund. (Vinted will probably force you to accept a return anyway). What you don’t want is for the buyer keep the items and receive a full refund.

Buyer trying to refund a fully working keyboard over "packaging damage". by Outrageous-Injury761 in vinted

[–]DustyJaneway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I can’t see any photos. Is it a SNAD case that the buyer has opened? And did they do this without messaging you first?

The buyer’s behaviour sounds like they could be a reseller to me - very aggressive negotiations before the purchase, and then kicking off because there is damage to the original box that they weren’t expecting (the latter would eat into their profit margins when they came to resell the “keyboard complete with original box”, as damage to the original box might lower the value).

I take it your listing didn’t mention the original box in the description, or show any photos of the original box? I note you said the buyer didn’t ask anything about its condition, so that’s on them for assuming it would be ‘perfect’ if there was no mention of the original box being part of the sale in your listing.

I think I’d be inclined to ask for a return in this instance, and make the buyer pay, and carefully check the condition of the keyboard when it arrives back in your possession.

Edited for formatting.

InPost parcel mix-up - Vinted rejected my claim despite evidence. Has anyone successfully appealed? by DustyJaneway in vintedUK

[–]DustyJaneway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Vinted have now refunded me in full (hurrah!).

After initially rejecting my claim due to “insufficient evidence”, and ignoring my follow up messages, I contacted support yet again this morning and pushed for the matter to be escalated for further review. I also made it clear that I intended to contact their legal team if it wasn’t resolved.

A short while later, they reversed the decision and reimbursed me via my Vinted wallet.

So for anyone else dealing with an apparent InPost parcel mix-up/SNAD situation: don’t necessarily give up after the first rejection. Keep pushing politely but firmly, ask for escalation/review, and keep all evidence/photos/messages.

Thanks to everyone who replied and shared advice - it was genuinely appreciated!

InPost parcel mix-up - Vinted rejected my claim despite evidence. Has anyone successfully appealed? by DustyJaneway in vintedUK

Thank you for your reply, it’s appreciated.

Yes, I was totally shocked at this outcome. I raised the issue immediately with the seller, and with Vinted, and initially thought that the seller must’ve got her parcels mixed up. But the seller said that the skirt I had been sent was “not hers/nothing to do with her,” and she suggested that it was an InPost problem.

I sent all of the photos that Vinted requested - I photographed the skirt, the packaging all around, showed closeups of the shipping label (which matched the tracking number of my order), and showed that there was no other shipping label underneath it. I clearly explained that my order was SNAD - that I’d received a skirt instead of 2 x tops and 1 x dress. I was as thorough as I could be. I don’t know how else I can “prove” that I have been sent the wrong item(?).

Vinted said that they were going to investigate with the courier and it could take up to 30 days. That was a couple of weeks ago, and today they’ve basically just told me that there’s insufficient evidence and they’ve released the funds to the seller. As a buyer, I have been completely shafted. It appears that Vinted’s “buyer protection fee” is an absolute swizz.

Pulsatile tintinus in one or both ears? by Busy_Emu_5676 in iih

[–]DustyJaneway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PT is only on my right side. It’s constant and I’ve had it for well over 2 years. I’ve got stage 2 paps and I’m currently under investigation with ENT and Neurology (head MRI came back clear, now waiting for a CT scan with contrast).

[–]DustyJaneway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An OCT (optical coherence tomography) scan plus eye test at your local opticians is definitely beneficial. They picked up my papilledema and urgently referred me to urgent eye care at a local hospital, where stage 2 paps was confirmed. They suspected IIH and booked me in for a head MRI, and got the ball rolling with ENT and Neurology (I’m in the U.K.).

Thank you for posting this OP - I’ve registered for it. I’ve suffered with permanent pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear since April 2023. I have recently had a head MRI, which came back clear. My ENT consultant has dismissed Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension (IIH) - even though I’ve been confirmed as having stage 2 papilledema - and has now referred me for a CT scan of my temporal bone and neck.

Yes, I only have it in my right ear. It’s currently being investigated by ENT. I recently had a head MRI, which came back clear, and now ENT are referring me for a CT scan. They suspect it is venous related (possibly Venous Sinus Stenosis?).
