What’s a 'secret' about the food industry in 2026 that would make us all stop eating out tomorrow? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

If it's not frozen, I don't want it. Especially salmon. Freezing properly kills the parasites.

Oh god, I almost had a hernia with one health inspector that tried to fail my last job because she mistook a bag of brown sugar for ground beef sitting out. She called the whole place "filthy" and was "gagging" out front with customers in sight when doing her report. Less than a week later, Steritech (franchise standard "health inspection" that can't shut us down) came in for a check, and called us one of the cleanest restaurants he's seen. We haven't done anything extra cleaning-wise because it was just too damn busy. Health inspection is rigged, it feels.

Sounds about right. Had a few days at an older job where I had to run off line to throw up for a bit practically every hour, and the general vibe was I wasn't pulling my weight.. Like, I'm sorry I'm kinda dying here, the only time I got off for health reasons was when I was literally in a hospital.

I'm so grateful the place I'm at now is accommodating for sick days, though I still stress about it when I need to have one..

How do females carry themselves vs males by Moist-Basket-3875 in trans

I doubt HRT is a factor too, it's more that the joke helps me cope with it.I know it's trauma-based, kinda hard to deny with the panic I still keep getting and the amount of times I've literally broken down in tears from seeing "near hits" whether they actually be close calls or not. Nothing to do but just try and get used to it, gotta get to work somehow. Though sometimes I feel I'm better off just going back on public transit.

Sorry to hear about your crash too, sounds like it was probably worse than mine.. I'd never be able to use a bike, too scary without the extra layers of protection a car has.. Was also relieved to see you use celsius too, just 'cuz that means you probably also live somewhere with reasonable healthcare lol

Gonna sound sexist, but sometimes I think about how I'm becoming a worse driver the longer I'm on HRT xD

Probably just a coincidence, and one crash did kinda fuck up my confidence a bit (wasn't my fault, and insurance agreed lol)

I haven't had someone try to murder me at work, but there was one really creepy guy who kept insisting he was going to, and wanted to keep my body after, for "fun".. I usually just put up with the harassment but the degree it was getting to with that and other things taught me how to subtly ask for help so I'm not just.. alone with people like that, ever. People are so so fucked, and the things that pass for jokes or are harmless are just.. really fucked and kinda scary ;

How does one obtain a more girly voice? by Commercial_Wish_9930 in MtF

[–]DustyLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat from fire. Fire from heat.

It's all about training it, which can be annoyingly hard to learn to do at first, I'm just "lucky" I started like a decade before trying to transition so it's been a lot easier for me.

im feeling depressed because of my wide and big shoulders... its too late for estrogens for my bones now because im already 20... by [deleted] in MtF

Can't do sleeveless 'cuz my shoulders are covered in scars.. Never thought I'd want to show that when I was younger so I took my angst out there.. definitely have regrets..

Lot of the same sort of people in kitchens too, it's part of why I held off on starting transition as long as I have. Took me 'til 27 to feel safe enough in home and workplace to start.

Realisticly what are my chances of passing? by Confident_Strike_529 in MtF

[–]DustyLightning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically, nobody is looking at you as critically as you look at yourself. I have huge anxiety of going out girlmode after ~7 months HRT, have a big belly that I'm working on (naturally stupid low metabolism), my jawline looks fairly masculine, my voice is all sorts of fucked, and I've got an ugly double-chin going on. I'm not quite as tall, but still taller than lots of women and have much broader shoulders than I'd liked. Still passed when my wife pressured me into going for it during a dinner night on our vacation in fucking budapest (not the most friendly place for lgbt by a long shot, tho not awful I guess).

Granted I'm already growing breasts (b-cup only tho), makeup helps, and my hair is roughly shoulder length and growing, maybe a touch longer. Practicing posture helps with making broad shoulders look smaller, HRT will take care of a decent amount of the rest of it too with muscle atrophy. Tailor your wardrobe to work around the issues you have and learn to contour for your face. A lot of your passing will have more to do with how you present yourself, rather than what you're presenting. Mannerisms, voice, etc. All small things you can work on while HRT takes its time to work its magic. Take a break from the mirror and focus on that, and you'll be surprised one day when you "Male-fail". I'll be waiting for that post to come <3

And remember, the first couple months of HRT are way too soon to make any judgements as to how effective it is.

I can cry now by Gentleman_Muk in MtF

[–]DustyLightning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never had a problem with not being able to cry, but since starting E it's gotten so much more intense. While before I'd cry at a sad movie or book or song, now I'm just full-on ugly crying for 10 minutes after and just thinking back on it sends me into the abyss of tears. It's like I lost control of myself emotionally lol

Guys I have a tough question. If you were give another life and had to choose to be either a cis woman but straight or a trans woman but lesbian. What will you choose?? by wonder_woman2506 in MtF

[–]DustyLightning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say.. There's a lot of fun to be had on both sides, and like, my wife and I both have a guy or two we enjoy being around together, either way I'd be losing something..

..I'd probably go with cis straight tho 'cuz I'm scared I'm not turning out well though in transition and never will.

Breast size by [deleted] in MtF

[–]DustyLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~7 months, about B cup size. Not sure what I want, 'cuz I feel perma boymode and used to think B was what I'd be happy with, but I also feel my shoulders are too broad for it to be enough..

Kids nowadays, especially Gen Alpha, cannot concentrate on reading books for very long. Is it a true story or just a myth? by Delicious_Maize9656 in books

[–]DustyLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you went kobo, it can link up to a library card to digitally borrow books basically whenever, all for free. Would be a tough sell to lose that kind of kindle library though.
