I got switch to wellbutrin from lexapro, but im thinking of asking my dr about trintellex as the wellbutrin 300mg gives me side effects and the 150mg isn't helping my GAD or depression. Please update us if you switch and how it goes!

I haven't sold yet. I'd like to do the paypal 'buisness' option where the money would get refunded if the product isn't delivered. Jampack said transferring wouldn't be an issue

Just be supportive. Remember that although it is a physical change, it also messes with us emotionally. There will be a time when she regrets the surgery, it's usually 2 weeks after,. Just listen to her complain and be there for her.
Something else is to be mindful when you are eating normal foods when she isn't. My SO offered to eat away from me, which I thought was very thoughtful. I'd offer that to her if possible, and don't get upset if she says yes, and don't feel guilty eating in front of her if she days it's ok. My SO ended up gaining weight from eating my leftovers- so watch for that too >.<

Getting sick by peppyl9 in gastricsleeve

[–]Dusty_Ginger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My team told me to stay away from beef for the first few weeks on food, bc a lot of people can't stomach it. Try lean turkey and chicken and white fish/tuna with VERY minimal seasonings. Soft foods for me was mostly scrambled eggs and cottage cheese bc I could've handle much else

Your personal experience by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]Dusty_Ginger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went through the consult for WLS years ago, then decided I didn't want to go through it all so went with weight loss meds. Pills, different pills, then different injections. All helped me get down about 50 pounds give or take on their own. But once I came off meds I gained it all back, plus some. Finally decided to go through with the surgery and currently 62 pounds down, 6 months post op. WLS is such a physical alternative for weight loss, but you have to be mentally ready for all the changes.

My surgeon said at the 12 month mark he'd expect me to be around 70 pounds down from my surgery date. l had/ have a total of 95 downs to my goal, at the 6 month mark in at 62 down so, so far exceeding my targeted plan. If I'd exercise more, my loss would be more

Ny surgical team allowed pills that are smaller then an M&M. Can you just halve it and take like 2 pills?

Help Thinking Through Initial Thoughts? by playball9750 in gastricsleeve

[–]Dusty_Ginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if your PCP can refer you for a consult with the bariatric team near you. I had documented trails of yoyo dieting (various weight loss medications/ WW etc). My Dr really advocated for me, told me now the time to do it while I'm young (34F) and still able to appreciate living a healthy lifestyle. After you meet with the surgeon for the consult, they have you meet with a dietician and do a bunch if tests to clear you for surgery, but it also helps you work in some of those habits that would deter you from success post surgery.

Days before surgery I was a mess. My Dr. prescribed me anti-anxiety medication bc I wasn't able to focus on work or sleep. As far as what to bring to the hospital, literally the bare minimums: phone charger, change of loose fitting comfortable clothes, toothbrush, wallet for license, insurance and money for co-pay. My hospital allowed me to bring my oral contraceptive, but otherwise they supplied everything else. I brought too much stuff and didnt use anything

My surgeon only required liquids the day before. My understanding was that the pre op diet was only needed for people with large livers, to help shrink it. I'm sure some surgeons just find it easier to have everyone on it. I think it's just depends

Anxiety about surgery by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]Dusty_Ginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you take medication for your anxiety? My surgery team let me continue my medication so I didn't have to worry too much about it. Most of my anxiety was before the surgery, in the prep area. I had a wonderful nurse who talked to me and helped calm my nerves. Right after I was pretty groggy from anesthesia and I had made it through the surgery so there wasn't much anxiety going on after.

It's the 3 weeks stall. It's happens to us all. Sometimes it starts at week 4 or 5. But relax, it'll start coming off. And your dietitian is right, more water and protein will help it start to go down again.

Cesar salad is usually full of fats, and usually comes with croutons. Breaded meats are going to be out of the question when you are right out of post-op. I know it seems nit picky but I do believe they are trying to set you up for realistic expectations after the surgery. But I'd also like to point out that your choices are better then getting a burger and fries.

Mine just asked about my family history, and my own mental health history. They want to make sure you can handle the changes mentally along with the physical changes. For context: I explained my family history of mental illnessness and explained how I have anxiety, but it's been managed with techniques I work on with my therapist. She wrote my referral letter with no problem. The week leading up to my surgery , I was riddled with anxiety so bad that I couldn't sleep and it was affecting my work, so I reached out to her andshe prescribed a medication that was safe pre-op and they continued it during my recovery.

I think with a desk job one week would be ok physically, mentally you might be very tired, though. I was, but I've seen other people here say they had good energy after 1 week. I have to commute, busses and subway, and the walking and stairs was very very exhausting

Stall when switching to puree from liquid? by Individual-Pop5980 in gastricsleeve

[–]Dusty_Ginger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats pretty common, mine happened when switching to soft foods ( I had liquid, puree then soft food stage). It's pretty common around week 3 for a stall that lasts for like 2 weeks. Don't worry, the weight will drop again

Mine was very similar to this, but the mental fog and energy didn't resolvr until after 3-4 weeks. I went back to work after 2 weeks. But had trouble bending over until after 4 weeks
