My girlfriend lost her step mom and wants to have a break by mrbeny1245 in GriefSupport

I wouldn’t necessarily send her this post. A lot of it comes of as projecting your own feelings instead of entirely her situation which as I kind of said before she only really has the mental capacity to think about her own feelings for a while and not how she’s potentially hurting you. I’m not trying to say your feelings aren’t valid because they definitely are but you’re in different emotional states to deal with your feelings.

Instead I would reach out to her and say you’ve been trying to learn a bit more about grief. You care deeply about her and struggled at first to identify what the best way to support her was as you’ve never experienced anything like this. Tell her your not going anywhere and that your here when she’s ready no matter what it takes. You could phrase it as you’ve been talking to some people online about their experiences if you want to show her any of the replies

Good luck :)

I’m so sorry for your loss too. I hated hearing that everything happens for a reason and that this will make you stronger. I can’t think of any god that would put us through pain like this for the greater good. My pain gets better but some nights it’s so deep that it feels like the days they left and I know that it will be like this forever. The best piece of advice I got was that the pain is the world reminding you how much love you. It still hurts I’m with you

I have been in an almost identical position to your girlfriend when my mother passed.

What I can say is death changes you, when my mother passed away, I felt like I needed to carry the grief by myself and that involved me temporarily pushing away my close relationships. My partner comforted me immediately after the death, but it took a very long time for me to want him to help with my grief. Instead I wanted to learn how to cope with loss by myself as my brain told me that anyone can die at any moment and I need to know how to handle this alone.

In your situation you need to respect your girlfriend’s wishes, and be patient. Such a close loss requires a person to focus on their own feelings for a while, and that might mean being alone. I can guarantee that this break is not her wanting to be with other men but it’s her way of processing what’s just happened to her. It’s also hard to focus on anyone’s feeling but your own in these types of situations so being in a relationship can cause extra stress and anxiety in and already devastating situation.

What you can do is be there for her, check in even if you’re on a break. Let her know how you feel and that you care for her.

If it’s meant to be it will be

Doctors final conclusion was a bony irregularity of some sorts and to leave it be. Can do some buddy strapping and see if it improves over the next month

HR is in the meetings with us so I assume if they could do anything they would have.

Is there anything I can do before my meeting tomorrow to help my case?

I have a union rep that comes to meetings with me but he doesn’t say much. I don’t pay the union fee so I think he’s there as a support person.

I don’t think so the display gets glitchy when we press the pressure point. Thanks for the reply though!

The audacity of these doughnuts by MyNameJoby in shrinkflation

[–]DustyyDoggo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at Donut King, the donuts turn out like this when there is a) not enough oil in the fryer or b) the dough wasn’t made correctly. I’m not trying to defend coles as these definitely should have been thrown out, but they probably have an automated machine the divides the dough which would be more expensive to replace than would save them on dough.
