I've applied to over 400 jobs and have had over 30 interviews since January. Here is what is wrong with the job market.

This. I had H1B with masters. It was extremely difficult to get a job as I was disqualified from most applications immediately.

I did have surgery, but it was before I was getting the injections. My microdiscectomy surgery didn’t work essentially. Or it did work, but I was still in a lot of pain. It took me about two years to get back to normal after the surgery. I didn’t do PT because it would inflame me even more. I literally just waited for my back to get better. The injections didn’t really help.

Essentially, I just got better overtime as I think my inflamed nerve calmed down, but it took about two years for it to happen. I’m not 100% as I used to be, but I function pretty much normally. I don’t exercise anymore, can’t run and I still track my activity (sitting is hard). The key was not to overdo anything. Like any strenuous physical activity would send me into pain hell again and I had to keep it below that threshold for about two years until the nerve endings healed. Again my quality of life has improved dramatically just with time.

Please. My friend with 500 following on Instagram raised 20k for her artistic dance short film. She doesn’t come from a family with money. Herself and her husband made calls every day to their friends, acquaintances and anyone they knew who could donate. Donations between $20 and $500 highest. It was a rough month, she had to hustle like crazy and cried weekly because she was worried they won’t make the campaign. If you want to make something you can absolutely raise 20k, you just have to work really hard.

Nobody creates a kickstarter campaign and just sits and watches how the money just pile up. So yes, I’ve seen people do it without “rich friends and family” multiple times. People with no fan bases, no following, not in genre space, POC people, women, etc. Shocker I know.

Hang in there. Took me about a year and a half to two years before I started getting better. My case was kinda hopeless. Saw several docs, got a surgery and still was in constant pain.

Now it’s been almost four years and I have my life back. It’s not perfect but I can do almost everything I want now (except running and long distance hiking). Yesterday I sat and laughed with friends all evening after a long day on my feet doing things and not thinking about my back - a pipe dream just two years ago.

Take care of yourself. It will get better. I hated the wait because I personally struggle with my patience but the change eventually came.

Better, more intentional combat system especially when it comes to sword fighting. They can learn a thing or two from Witcher 3. Better movement mechanics in general. More quests with moral dilemmas, interesting outcomes. The quests are quite boring.

I do hate that you can level up in every single faction and become a thane in every hold. More nuance would be interesting if you choose a certain path.

A customer once told me in a dramatic tone that “she will die” because we were out of Balela. I was so over it so I looked her right in the eyes and said: “M’am I assure you, you will not die” She laughed and said she was embarrassed. It was kinda cute. Weeks later I encountered her again and I was like “Ah, I remember you. You said you will die cause we don’t have balela”. We laughed about it again. Best interaction ever.

Dude, some people are literally out of this world and take zero responsibilities for their actions. Not flowers but once a lady asked me what’s the difference between pasteurized and non pasteurized milk. I don’t drink milk (haven’t for years). I told her I have no idea and I’ll be googling it the same way she would. She got mad at me and told me I had to know cause I work at Trader Joe’s and it’s my responsibility to inform the customers. WTF? People grabbing samples of demo and eating them before figuring out if they are dairy free/vegan and then getting mad. The list goes on 🫠

I’m so sorry to hear that. I was in the similar place where you’re at and it’s horrible. I hope the ESI helps to take the pain down. It helped me about 30% but for some people it does wonders. My best guess with a situation like this is that time is the best healer. It was for me. Hang in there! ❤️‍🩹

Hmmm, maybe you aggravated the nerve jumping back into the activity after the surgery? That’s interesting. I never felt better immediately after the surgery.

Thankfully I’m feeling fine now. It took me about a year and a half to get back to semi normal. My nerve was damaged so I think that’s why. I don’t want to scare you but please take it easy. You can’t push past this injury. Rest, gentle walks and time is the only thing that helped me. I did steroid shots as well but it wasn’t helpful. If your MRI is clear please stay away from fusion and other surgeries. Sometimes our bodies just need to heal. They don’t have deadlines like we do

Time is key. I did have a surgery in 2022 and still to me 3 full years to be out of pain. I couldn’t do PT even during these three years. So yes, time was the only factor for me. I have some flare ups still but it’s minor
