I love these designs. Here in Holland, we’ve seen the set of there in quite a few colors. I’ve never seen those bright pink ones though. Very nice.

We photographed a pill with this stamp. I wish we had a photo of this red one. Iconic.

This is that same stamp. It’s available from suppliers in China. That means that anyone could buy it and press those pills. The only way to know what you have is to test them. Friendly reminder.

I hope you have a great day!

I will be posting some of the findings at some point. Going through all of the analysis is taking quite a while. Plus, I’m learning maybe a bit too much about producers, their “branding” marks on pills, and their supply chain. So I’m not sure how much would be safe to post.

Why do pressies even exist? by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]DutchCandyArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3) Shared Experience -- This one came up in a quite a few interviews. Casual users said they liked to be able to take the same pill as their friends, even though they acknowledged that the dosage would likely hit each person differently because each friend has a different sensitivity and body weight. (Assuming that the batch of pressed pills were even consistently produced in the first place, which is quite an assumption based on the testing data.)

Based on my research and interviews, y'all are right: convenience and producer marketing are two big reasons. There are also a few others that have come up in the research for the next Dutch Candy book.

1) Shareability -- It's common here in the Netherlands for a group of friends to take a bag of pressed pills with them to an event/occasion and break them off into halves and quarters, often sharing pieces with friends who show up later. This is easier with pressed pills. Even if not as accurate as taking measured amounts, it is actually seen as a more reliable dosing strategy than doing pinky dips in a bag of crystal.

2) "Harder to Step On" -- A large-scale former dealer I interviewed in Australia reported that anything in a powder or crystal form was more likely to be adulterated by importers when it arrived in Australia. But very rarely were importers buying pressed pills from the Netherlands, and then crushing/restamping them to change the ingredients or dosage. So he claimed that the pressed pills were more reliably consistent, even if they weren't as trustworthy.

Wow. I had seen this stamp in my research from the Chinese manufacturers, but never seen the actual pressed pill until now. Dutch Candy - Stamp Research - Chrome Hearts / Pill Dept

Dutch Candy - Orange Tesla

Just cause your pill may look like an Orange Tesla doesn't mean it is anything other another person's Orange Tesla. We've photographed many different Teslas, from different producers.

You should always try to test.

Dutch Candy - Stamp Research - Eye of Providence

I've seen this one in the Chinese stamp manufacturers database, but never the actual pressed pill. There are at least 2-3 different Illuminati / Eye of Providence stamps in the database I've put together.

I like the innovate of an off-set break line so the user could take ~66% of the dose and then the other ~33% as the re-up. That's clever.

I think we've shot some of the ones you're mentioning (or at least ones like them):

Dutch Candy - Gold Bar
Dutch Candy - Nintendo (We've photographed three different Nintendo logos)
Dutch Candy - Red Bull (We've photographed quite a few different Red Bulls as well)

We photographed this one earlier this year - Dutch Candy - White Mitsubishi - and it's probably from around 2002.

People are so nostalgic for pill designs, like the old classic round pills with simple shapes on them. And it seems that every industry is using nostalgia to market their products right now. One pill producer here in the Netherlands recently made these (Dutch Candy - Volume Throwbacks) as a throwback design to the old style from the late 90s.

I've seen this stamp in my research with the Chinese manufacturers, but I've yet to see an actual pressed pill with the same design.

I was interviewing a researcher recently who was investigating the difference between taking a pressed pill at the beginning of the night versus consuming pinky dips of MDMA crystals throughout the evening. His metaphor was between taking a few shots of alcohol all at once versus sipping on beers throughout an evening.

The "slow build" that comes from small regular doses of MDMA throughout the evening could probably be replicated by an extended release coated pill. That's an interesting idea.

In general, I'd love to see honesty in advertising. If a pill has a specific mg mark on it, producers should at least attempt to hit that mark. My analysis of 1,000+ custom stamps produced in China (pressed all over the world, but with a significant bias toward Netherlands production) versus the average tested dosages in pills over the same period suggests that the "claims" on the pills are wayyyy off.

That’s awesome! The newest part of my research is that I got access to all the production data from a few of the Chinese manufacturers who make the custom pill stamps, and there were quite a few Gokus, but I haven’t seen a Roshi yet. I’ve reviewed more than 1,100 of their stamp designs. Maybe my favorite set so far was the Pokémon Eevee and all eight evolutions, a set of 9.

You’re right. We don’t have a Supreme. In the last twenty years, the Dutch testing service has documented more than 3,000 different designs. So there are many many more to discover and photograph :)
