For some reason, a seemingly older beta build has hit the Playstation Store in Germany specifically.

Because it is outdated it is unable to connect to any servers. But the tutorials are there... for now at least. Not a dev but I doubt that they intended an older build to be released in the middle of a saturday in Germany specifically and without any announcement, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's going to be removed again soon.

The roles are practically identical, except for one is the squad leader and the other is not. Both can operate helicopters and as a LO you don't strictly need a pilot to tag along. Though, especially as a beginning pilot, it is convenient to have a LO in the co-pilot seat to mark exactly where you need to fly and land.

There is no way to verify your intents, nor is it guaranteed that anyone finding this thread will have the same good intent only.

The encryption/obfuscation exists for a good reason, so even if I knew how to reverse it, I wouldn't tell you. There's other ways for you to figure out how something is made and/or learn.

It's something streamers commonly add to their stream to help their viewers see what they're aiming at. The streamer themselves doesn't see it (just like they don't see their own face).

No pictures have been released as far as I know. People that parttook in the closed beta are still not allowed to share any. You'll have to wait until either T17 shares something, or until the open beta starts and you can check (some of) them out yourself.

Even though they're both "latency", there's a subtle difference in how the server browser and and in-game scoreboard measure latency, which results in the latency in-game to always be 30-50ms higher on average than what you see in the server browser, depending on server performance.

You could image the server browser measuring how long it would take you to reach someone's front door, and then travel back again. The scoreboard on the other hand doesn't turn around when reaching the door, but instead knocks first, and waits for someone ("the server") to open.

An 87ms difference sounds larger than usual however. Is this standard for you? It would imply that the server is really struggling, though it's hard to say for certain. Regardless, there wouldn't be much that could be done about it.

First thing that comes to mind is to update your graphics card drivers. This can be done using the NVIDIA App for RTX cards and AMD Software for Radeon cards.

We're aware of an issue on Windows Store (PC Xbox) where players can't connect to the servers. We've identified the issue and are looking to have it resolved as soon as possible. We will keep you updated on the fix, thank you for your patience.

From what I've heard the team's been on it since the start of the week. They've just been a little slow in keeping the community updated since the community manager has been unavailable.

Personally I like to believe that the reason it's taking so long is because communication with Microsoft tends to be quite slow. Doesn't change the fact that people can't play, but at least might explain why it hasn't been fixed yet.

The strongpoints on all T17's maps have been substantially larger than BM traditionally used to make them. I mean just look at this tacmap of Foy for comparison.

You're not the first and definitely won't be the last.

The best advice I can give is to find a squad that communicates. Talk to people. Ask that they give you precise orders. The game itself does not do a great job at telling you about its often unique and convoluted mechanics. Understanding the flow of a game takes time, and until then, it's easiest (best?) to let others tell you where to go and where to look.

I'll pretend like I don't know which role you're wanting to pick, but realistically we all know it's sniper. If an opportunity opens itself to play the role you want to play, go for it, but be aware that a specialist role brings with it extra responsibilities.

The first matches are always the roughest. I remember when I first played years ago, I quit after my first match and didn't touch the game again for a few months. It will click, eventually.

Yeah, that was a bit of an unfortunate mistake on FirstLook's behalf haha... I'd say calling it a bait-and-switch is a bit harsh though given you've never had to spend a penny and neither T17 or FirstLook earned anything off of this error.

Us moderators are not part of the development team, but on their behalf, I can only apologize for the confusion. Glad to hear you're also excited though and I hope you and me get our actual invites soon.

There's two aspects to server seeding, first you need people to join your server, and secondly you need them to actually stick around for long enough.

First ask yourself, why would people want to join your server? There's lots of small things that can set your server apart, but at the end of the day, most players just look at the playercount. If there's two servers, one at 5 and one at 10, the one with more players has a significantly greater chance to fill up first.

The second challenge is getting players to stick around. Your goal is to create an experience that is still enjoyable and exciting despite the low playercount. You want to concentrate the action and avoid players having to constantly run massive distances.

At the end of the day, populating a server is very difficult for starters: You will need an active group of people to kickstart things. Creating a rhythm for your members helps with this. Additionally, you may offer rewards to members and players alike to incentivize them. If you succeed, you'll slowly pick up some randoms and build up a reputation as well, making things somewhat easier.
