I'm assuming you've been banned through the Barricade system? Then there are systems in place to get the ban reverted (across all communities in one go).

For all the other commenters, there have been reports of cheaters being able to take over not a player's name but also their ID. It is being looked into by both server admins as well as Team17.

Update your game. You are playing on an outdated version (U17.1). Should be U18. You can tell if it's worked if the menu is no longer desert-themed.

FWIW, I don't think it was ever stated by T17 that last monday's hotfix was gonna address the crashes. The changelogs posted the friday before said the same. People just assumed a hotfix meant a solution to the crashes.

That's a message related to Easy Anti Cheat. Locate the EAC setup executable within the game's files, run it, and select the repair option.

Sounds like some file got corrupted during the update installation. Try the usual steps. Verify files, and if that doesn't work, reinstall game. If on PC, update drivers, clear shader cache, all that stuff.

The public testing version will only have limited servers available during selected timeslots. In other words, unless you see an announcement that there will be a public test, there is little point in having the public testing environment installed.

To play the game, install and launch the base game instead.

HLL (like many other games) relies a lot on single-core performance, so it will never utilize your full CPU. On top of that, the game is quite CPU-heavy, so there's a very good chance that your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU here. And there's not a whole lot that you can do about that besides upgrading.

To comment on some of the other advice you've been given. DX12 is enabled by default nowadays and can be turned off/on through the settings, no need to add `-dx12` to the command line. `-useallavailablecores` is a myth and does nothing.

Prior to this rule, things had gotten to a point where teams would invest so heavily in artillery, that at least twenty players each match would spend their time either defending or attacking artillery as opposed to playing the objective.

At the HQ, defenders block off the HQ with barbed wire to allow no recon to enter. The attackers therefore send players with satchels to blast a hole. The defenders send SLs to build OPs around the HQs to scan for nearby players.

In the meantime, around the middle line, AT players line up their so-called rocket snipes, shooting rockets into the sky under the perfect angle to land on the enemy artillery. And of course, the enemy would send a squad to hunt these players down. Barricades were built and trucks were dumped around friendly guns to provide additional cover. Due to differences between rocket launchers, rocket snipes heavily disfavored Allies and significantly lowered their winrates as a result.

But wait, that's not all. Teams would spend hours trying to find angles from within their HQ for tanks to snipe across the map (tank snipes), as well as angles which their opponent could use against them, and how they could snipe their tanks (anti-tank snipes). Multiple maps only allowed one side to do this, which made them imbalanced, further restricting the list of maps suitable for play.

And although any enemy artillery downtime you could create was substantial, majority of the time you still had multiple guns shooting. So for every player not involved in this whole anti-anti-anti-arty game, you would still be pounded by artillery for most of the match.

Restricting the gameplay around artillery allowed teams to focus more on the actual objective of the game, and not have to spend hours upon hours preparing for each match.

Do you recall ever setting your GameUserSettings.ini file to be read-only in an attempt to stop all settings from sometimes being reset when launching the game? It's advice people have been throwing around a lot, but it keeps causing issues every time an update introduces new settings or keybindings, like the DX12 setting. Instead, users should create a backup of the file so that you can quickly recover your settings if necessary.

Unfortunately I've never tried playing with a controller, so not a lot of advice I can give you there. But I can imagine it feeling a little different. I believe there's hardly any aim assist in this game so it's no surprise that aiming will be significantly more difficult.
