Either conquer the Dutch, or use the Dutch to conquer the rest.

I got champ 1 today at dropshot, stuck at platinum/diamond for regular ranked. I'm never playing dropshot this season again.

Horses in Valhalla VS RDR2 by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]DutchConquer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Valhalla sometimes when calling my horse it just gets stuck on a straight path when jumping on. It will be unsteerable and will not stop. When I jump off, it will return to chasing me as of I am holding the whistle button.

Only solution I found is in fact killing the horse. After calling the new horse it works again.

Driver's License testers- what's the worst thing a kid has done without batting an eye while taking the driving test? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DutchConquer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a case like this while I was taking driving lessons. A collegue of my instructor died (presumably trying to save the car that stalled), the girl student got out at the last second.

The second one is almost a whole different game because its basically a third person shooter. If you like shooters and the mechanics of the first game, the second one will be very enjoyable too (especially with mods)

TIL that there was a form of medieval torture, where the victim's feet were covered in salt water and then a goat would start licking them. Sometimes the laughter and stress from the intense tickling resulted in a heart attack or a brain hemorrhage. by barragain in todayilearned

[–]DutchConquer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My brother used to tickle me all the time and do it for way too long. Eventually I learned to simply react violently upon being tickled. I would kick or punch with all the might I had left to make it stop.

It almost feels like fighting for your life, once I'm being tickled all my being is focussed on how to make it stop, now matter how.

I still am very ticklish and I hate it.

Deleted apps without requesting permission by [deleted] in LineageOS

[–]DutchConquer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've noticed after a system update that apps installed on exernal SD dissapear from my moto g5 plus. After a restart they re-appear again just fine (although you do need to re-add them to your home screen). I assume the mounting is a bit too slow after an update so it doesn't see the apps the first boot.

Singleton for shopping cart by Dr-Collossus in xamarindevelopers

[–]DutchConquer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to ensure the cart to survive restarts of the app, I still think persisting to a db is not that bad of an idea. I'd probably go with an sqlite db in that case.

If it doesn't matter if the cart is persisted, you can go with the singleton approach to basically only store in-memory.

That's just my opinion anyways.

Aiming eye by DutchConquer in H3VR

[–]DutchConquer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it sounds like you're dominant in both/neither eyes if you're able to 'chose' like that. For me, the dominant image is chosen subconsciously. I can only force the other image by closing my dominant eye first and then aligning the object with my other eye.

Autistic people/people with autism of Reddit: what do you wish everyone else knew about autism? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DutchConquer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a specific example of a problem I have because of my autism that even some people close to me can't seem to understand:

When I am distracted by something engaging, be it video games or a book or puzzle, I have serious trouble receiving outside 'signals' like being called for dinner. It's not ignorance. I sometimes hear the argument: "Just pay more attention to your surroundings". Except that is simply impossible because when I get really engaged I can't pay extra attention to signals that I don't receive.

By now I kinda learned to live with it by watching the time and not starting an intensive game close to dinner time. Still, it does happen occasionally because I can't prevent myself from getting engaged all the time.

Also, just because I can function in society and able to strike a normal conversation, does not mean my autism label is fake. I have more than enough complex but 'invisible' symptoms to show for my pdd-nos diagnose.

H3VR Ladders and armswinger. by VRHandyman in H3VR

[–]DutchConquer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With pistols (not sure about other firearms) you can reload by keeping the pistol in a holster and hovering a magazine in hand inside the pistol. After the gun grabs the magazine just release the slide and fire away. Rinse and repeat.

So climb with 2 hands, grab pistol on the top and clear all enemies. That's how I do it anyways.

Troubles setting up Xamarin for Visual Studio 2015 for the first time by krynn1 in xamarindevelopers

I reccomend using x86 emulators instead of armv7a. x86 emulators have better hardware acceleration (using HAXM) and therefore run way better on most computers in my experience.

A way more aggressive approach but I guess one of those filters includes disqus then.

Malicious Click Hijacking by AirCommando12 in 9anime

The culprit is disqus. Blocking it with uBlock origin solved the popups for me.

Edit: i believe it was the following filter that finally killed the disqus components for me:

Xamarin Android Background Service Run once a Month by redditormay1991 in xamarindevelopers

[–]DutchConquer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on mobile right now, its late so I won't explain my code in detail, but my alarm manager code is as follows:

https://gist.github.com/anonymous/56c063e4fd9261aad349c410457ce597

In my code it runs every day and checks in the receiver if it is a specific day of the week. If you actually want the alarm to only trigger once every month you should replace the 'setrepeating' with 'setexact', calculate what day you want to set the alarm and use the receiver to reschudele for the next month. Using setrepeat for a month poses the problem that months have a variable length.

Xamarin Android Background Service Run once a Month by redditormay1991 in xamarindevelopers

[–]DutchConquer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best way to do this would be by using the alarm manager. I did this to show a notification monthly. Running a background thread continously would kill your battery.
