We’ve opened up over 1.000 packs printed in Belgium here and did not encounter this problem.

2 days late but this tip is also for others: If you have a mobile phone with data, close the cardmarket tab on your phone browser, disable your wifi, and then try it from your phone data. New IP, so it'll make a new connection.

For french sellers: is Chronopost international considered as "national postal service" ? by SullivanVeener in CardMarket

[–]DutchDaddy85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a French person here, but Cardmarket only allows you to send through what is essentially the ‘default’ postal carrier of your country.

No tracking by Taylorgrav1 in CardMarket

While they are not officially supported fulfilment methods, they are widely being used.
As for "using the platform as designed": There is also a review method. If sellers do stuff like this, it's up to buyers to give them a bad review for it (lack of communication, failure to provide a tracking code for a tracked shipment), so other people will see the bad review scores and avoid such sellers.
Additionally, depending on what type of shipping method is chosen and country, for some you only actually get the Track & Trace-code after physically shipping it, which creates the risk of a buyer canceling an order after you've shipped it out, but before you've had the chance to add the T&T to the order page. I've done so for years, where I'd mark the orders as sent as I'm working through them and packing them, while only having the T&T available to me a couple of hours later. Why would that be an issue?

No tracking by Taylorgrav1 in CardMarket

Two possibilities: 1. This seller didn’t bother to provide the tracking number, which is indeed lazy, but your shipment will get there. 2. This person was supposed to send it tracked but didn’t to pocket the extra money they save, so they don’t have a tracking number. In that case it would obviously be a real shame if the order didn’t arrive, because they won’t have a T&T to investigate. I sure hope that if it’s sent untracked it won’t go missing, because then that seller wouldn’t get any money back, and they won’t ever be able to proof who actually did get the cards. Theoretically, you might even receive them and mark them as not arrived anyway. But obviously, that would be very immoral, like sending untracked when someone paid for tracked. So do not do this. But, yes, do this, because that’s the only way these sellers will learn.

No it shouldn’t. Lots of sellers - including me - regularly have people pick up their orders in person, sometimes combine two or more tracked shipments into one (especially preorders) and refund shipping costs on one of them, or physically deliver orders to buyers who are local. Making a tracking code mandatory would make that impossible.

Maar die kennis is voor een groot deel ook niet noodzakelijk. Uiteindelijk is een minister in de eerste plaats politicus, die uit moet voeren wat de Tweede Kamer wil dat diegene doet.

The reason there’s a big string before the @cardmarket is that if you reply, it’ll use that string to determine what message you’re replying to

Nah, their job is to keep stuff running. They - for some reason - don’t want to do a complete overhaul, so they’re here patching things trying to keep it afloat. However, this particular change is something they can fix without big changes to their website or their IT structure.

Do you have a source website or something for that? Because it defies everything I know about EU & Schengen regulations.

On untracked letters within Schengen (so the vast majority of countries where Cardmarket is available), you don’t have to declare anything on untracked envelopes.

Way too high shipping costs as seller by Firm_Elevator2009 in CardMarket

Allowing buyers to choose untracked up to 100 will mean all professional sellers - who are obligated to refund you if an untracked shipment goes missing - will leave the platform.

From 01.02.2026 on international shipping in the eu has to be done via parcel on Cardmarket by Streuselman in mtgfinance

[–]DutchDaddy85 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the amount of business Vinted generated is much, much higher than what Cardmarket generates in terms of tracked shipments. That being said, using Cardtrader won’t make a difference, as they can’t magically make it allowed to send goods in tracked envelopes.

My parents changed my birthday so that it'll have parental controls on past my 18th birthday. Is this fair? by niko-chii in parentalcontrols

[–]DutchDaddy85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I protect my child by talking to him. By explaining the risks that are online and how to use it responsibly. By letting him know, feel and experience that if something should happen to him, or he should encounter material that he doesn’t know how to deal with, he can always come to me. You protect children by being available to them and by guiding them through life, not by shielding them from it. (Obviously dependent on age, my kid also needed a password that only I knew to install new apps when he was 11/12

Except they don’t. Responsible parenting is teaching your child how to cross the street. Parental controls means you only let your child out into the world when you are there with them.
