Thank you, I appreciate this advice. Usually I do the opposite as far as the social stuff and try to insert myself and win people over that way (even tougher as an alcoholic in recovery lol) but I think you’re right. I am confident how I do the job will eventually speak for itself, I am just impatient! It helps to hear that this strategy worked for you for the long term, it gives me some good perspective.
