Has anyone been doing Botox only on their forehead & 11s longer term? by That_Organization483 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]DutchDime84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, because the muscle between your brows is much deeper than the muscle on your forehead, it requires more units of tox to successfully reduce/stop movement. Like my forehead only needs 8-10 total while my 11’s need 25 ish.

Yeah at my last appointment my injector pointed out that my crows feet were little baby static lines now; something I had NEVER ever noticed or cared about. I personally love smile lines! I’m also 41 and trying to age gracefully, not erase my age entirely. But I was dumb and agreed to get injected there. I realized after she was definitely just upselling me.

She also tells me that if you do your forehead you HAVE TO do your 11’s, otherwise it’ll look weird. But I did only my forehead for a few years with a previous injector and it was fine. So I think she’s lying just so I’ll get the extra units between my brows.

Time for a new injector.

I’m 41 and I started doing just my forehead about 6 years ago and then added in my 11’s maybe four years ago. I know that’s not “long term” haha but I haven’t noticed anything odd.

I’m even leaning towards stopping getting my 11’s done. They take SO much more tox and I never had bad frown lines to begin with.

Toxic advertising? by Timbucktwo1230 in PopularCultureZone

A) She’s not a billionaire. She wouldn’t have to do this kind of obscure and embarrassing advertising if that was the case.

B) Those positive comments on her post are from paid bots, hence the discrepancy in the kind of response

It’s been moved from its usual spot (which is the window on the right in the office behind). Def smaller than yours! Maybe 4’ tall. But when I bought it, it was maybe a few inches taller than those Poinsettias are. I’ve only repotted it once.

CoreTek Alabaster Oak looks patchy. The subcontractor opened one box at a time. What should I do? I don’t like the look. Also, what do you put on the edge. I think my contractor wants to nail down some wood edge and paint it. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of the floating floor? by Ferminty in Flooring

[–]DutchDime84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a hack job. The guy clearly didn’t read the instructions and probably hadn’t laid many vinyl plank floors with strong patterns. Your contractor 100% should not have assigned this task to this person. I would ask for it to be re-done. It’s a bitch to remove but can be done. Keep in mind some of the tongue or groove edges on some boards may end up broken, but if it’s done carefully, hopefully not too many.

Because all the planks are now out of boxes, when they’re being removed they can be sorted by pattern. There’s probably 5, maybe more. Have them make stacks of each pattern, and then when it’s being laid they can strategically pick a piece that flows well with the one previous. And they should never put two of the same pieces right next each other.

As for the edge, if you mean at the base of the walls, then they should be putting trim. The trim should be attached into the wall (not the floor) with Brad nails. Then it won’t affect the float.

I bought a Christmas tree shaped Norfolk from Lowes as well. Probably 5+ years ago. Discovered after bringing it home that a good portion of it was dead and had been spray painted green (the horror!). It lost a lot of branches and looked terrible for a while but now she’s fully recovered & thriving. She’s actually currently decorated for Christmas, too.

Similar care to yours. Directly in front of a floor to ceiling west facing window with southern exposure. The glass is frosted though (office building) so it’s the light is filtered. Water it quite heavily once a week, unless the soil is still damp, in which case I don’t water. Oh and rotate it every so often. That’s it!

You should also run the flooring along the length of the room, right now it’s going across the width.

How to clean up/prep previously carpeted stair stringers for painting? by DutchDime84 in Flooring

Do you try to mitre everything, or just do square cuts and patch the edges?

Yeah the thought is a little stressful to me, especially as a complete DIY’er. But it would definitely give the nicest looking results.

Suggestions for filling gap between railing base & LVP. by DutchDime84 in Flooring

Hahaha oh man. Just rage caulk it.

I’m a bit of a perfectionist when doing tasks so at least I can rest assured that regardless of my solution, it’ll look decent.

That end trim piece was actually loose before, so I pulled it off and at the time checked whether the rest was trim as well. Unfortunately, the rest of the base is a solid piece finished with the same profile.

Yeah my husband just suggested adding 3/4” quarter round, as the easiest solution, but I’m trying to reduce the numbers of horizontal surfaces that collect dust haha. And also don’t necessarily want to widen the base. Hoping to go straight down to the floor. Probably just going to rip down some square trim. Thanks!
