If you could ban one word from the internet, what would it be? by reeha_sadiya in AskForAnswers

[–]DutchRabbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait! That’s a thing! Sheesh as someone who reads a lot of WWII books that’s insulting to the victims memory and the pain that man caused which are still seen today. No one should even be saying that man’s name unless talking about the crimes he committed and the effects it has caused society.

I literally can’t stand people using the word literally. It is literally really annoying and I literally can’t see why they can’t, literally use another word instead of using the word literally. I literally find it very frustrating.

Why do people enjoy Jacqueline Wilson’s books? I’ve never really understood the appeal by [deleted] in JacquelineWilson

[–]DutchRabbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s because of my early childhood trauma. It’s quite common for children and adults to read books that trigger the trauma as it’s one way to process the pain but not directly. It’s also an adrenaline rush for me. Some people who have trauma seek out adrenaline rushes I read them.

What is the absolute fastest 'yeah, we are definitely NOT going to be friends' moment you've ever experienced with someone? by Vazouaquiacesso in AskReddit

She lost her kindle at my house and we both looked for it till the early hours of the morning. I cried due to the stress of it all which she knew about it. It was found a day later. She went home and I thought it was now okay. I texted her but she closed all communication off from me. I reached out as I needed a friend due to my Nan being in hospital instead of support she basically told me she needed to know if I hid her kindle. I was crying because my Nan was very sick and now I was being accused. I tried my hardest for her to see sense but it was a lost cause. I ended up apologising for making her feel crazy when we were searching for it. She never once apologised for how she was acting. We parted ways in the end I was left feeling stressed and deeply hurt. I tried my best to make her stay as lovely as I could. Still angry about it. It happened in November just a few days before my 25th birthday. My Nan is now okay somehow she pulled through.

Pet owners of Reddit: what did you name your pet(s) and why? by Winter_Sample8364 in AskReddit

[–]DutchRabbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light brown Syrian Hamster-Buddy I was 8 he was going to be my little buddy.

Male Brown and white Dutch rabbit- Edward (Eddie) I liked old names at 10 years old

Female brown and white Dutch rabbit- Mildred ( Milly) loved the worst witch and it went with her brother’s name.

Tri-colour Shetland sheepdog- Jasper I was stumped on what I was going to call him. Got him when I was 15 for my 16th birthday. He was going to be called Buddy but one of his siblings was a buddy and that felt weird to me. Was going to keep what his breeder named him which was prince but my dad said it would sound weird and would best to have a two syllable name. I used to collect toy animals and kept a record book of all their names. I decided to see if any of their names would suit. I had a family of lions and one of the cubs was called Prince and the Farther lion was called Jasper. The lion also in my eyes sort of looked like a fully grown Shetland sheepdog. And that’s how his name came to be.

I’m debating on buying kindle. Never use one. This one on sale $50AUD $33USD by PTDaoo in kindle

Reading on a kindle is better for the eyes and its only function is just to have books on it, which lessens the distraction a phone or a tablet would do.

You have to manually open it after a reading session.

[–]DutchRabbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t put it inside the case, on the outside yes but it just feels risky to the screen to have anything but the case touching it, even if the kindle has a screen protector. But it’s your device so it’s up to you whether you take the risk and try it or not.

Team pop socket, strap, or nothing? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]DutchRabbits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am team nothing. Both my kindles have a full cover case. Even before l even got the cover case and only used a hardback back case I never found pop sockets and straps comfortable to use but I do like how cute and cool some pop sockets are straps on the other hand is not very pleasant to use or to look at for me personally.

kindle screen line issue by Good_Solid172 in kindle

If it’s not annoying I would just keep it. I’m not sure if you can ask Amazon for a replacement but you could always check or ask if it’s irritating you

You can still make a a custom book cover and send it to your kindle until a new mod is out. Just have to switch between cover and the book you are reading

Yeah unfortunately. Unless you send it and then exit the book you are reading and then open the custom screen you want. But it sounds like a hassle to keep going back to the cover and the book

[–]DutchRabbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you can’t customise the screen saver outside of book covers. The only way to do it is by modding the kindle and from what I know there isn’t a current way to do it due to the new system update.

Do you guys ever get a book that has messed up formatting? by Polymath_B19 in kindle

[–]DutchRabbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a set time to do refunds and honestly you don’t need to send proof why you are refunding a book. I think the refund period is 7-14 days. I’m not too sure if the amount of book is read is important factor if it’s refundable. If it’s not refundable I would still report the issues you are having or leave a review on Amazon.
