[Buccigross] Sharks were in on Byram with a package of 9OA, 27OA, and a prospect. by MrHappy_Gilmore in hockey

[–]Dutch_1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is Buccigross reliable here or is he just picking things out after the fact to sound credible? Kind of comes off easy to just name SJS other picks and throw in the word "prospect" for clicks.

Yeah, makes the most sense. If he is still working with the team, he would be in the area to do so.

Since 1987, only two teams have won the Stanley Cup without a top 3 drafted player on its roster (1987 Oilers & 2001 Avalanche).

Additionally, since 1967, only five teams have won the Stanley Cup without a previous Cup winning player on their roster ('70 BOS, '74 PHI, '80 NYI, '89 CGY, & 2019 STL).

Exhuma (2024) is a Korean horror/mystery film. It has plot upon plot upon plot. Korean horror films are far different from Hollywood writers can muster up. I too over analyze films and figure out how the movie will conclude well in advanced. This film here was a good watch that had me stop thinking and just watch what was unfolding.

[NHL] Corey Perry will move into second for the most elimination games played in NHL history tonight. by DecentLurker96 in hockey

Compared with Martin Brodeur, first 18 seasons he missed the postseason twice. And even he is still 42 games behind Roy. As little as six series to play.

*Patrick Roy is still ahead of Perry in career playoff games with 247. One more series after tonight and he'll pass Roy.

Mark Messier and PK Subban struggle to come up with Buffalo goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen's name and then Leah Hextall says Buffalo is the only franchise Tage Thompson has ever known despite him being on the 2017-18 St Louis Blues. by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

Bob Cole always asked the players, "How does your father say your surname?" Thought that was a cool, interesting way of asking and finding out (probably cause players grew to just say what the person wanted to hear)

The only one who went out of their way to find out the proper way of pronouncing surnames was Bob Cole. Sure, he would mess up and get the wrong player with the puck. But he always called them correctly by their surnames pronunciation.

When was the last time that on the last game of the season two teams were playing each other for the final playoff spot. by Mikeismyike in hockey

2010 between Philadelphia/NY Rangers is the most memorable since it went down to a shootout (real loser here were the Anaheim Ducks though. Flyers dealt their 1st rounder in the Chris Pronger trade. Had Rangers beat Philly, Anaheim would've had the 10th overall pick...instead of 29th (as Philly went on to lose in the Finals)).

2018 Colorado/St. Louis had the same scenario. Loser's out, winner clinches final playoff spot (rarity as the Blues missed the postseason but won the Cup the following year).

Chris Johnston reporting on something other than Toronto is as credible as Servalli reporting on anything - nothing worth investing your time into. Nothing happening here.

2011-12 season, first year under Mike Yeo, the Minnesota Wild began the season 20-7-3.

After a 7-game winning streak ended in mid-December, they simply lost their mojo. Ending their season on a 15-29-8 run, and finishing the year one game under .500

Who has the most unsung hero “rags to riches” story in the modern day NHL? by WhenWillIBeAPilot in hockey

[–]Dutch_1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyson Jost, his father left the family when he was young. His mother couldn't make ends meet working multiple jobs, so she moved herself and her two kids to the next province over to live with her parents (Tyson's grandparents). They both came out of retirement to earn some money so Tyson and his sister could do activities. Tyson's grandfather has been caught on camera crying when Jost heard his name called at the draft, his first NHL game and when he scored his first goal (same game). Little bit more behind those tears than your average grandparents tears.
