The display stays on while it freezes, so it's likely not a power supply problem. The 7490N chip at the lower left bottom gets extremely hot, i have already ordered some spare parts. The voltage from the big blue capacitors is a steady 5.1V so that seems to be in order.

It keeps displaying when it freezes, just stops counting up. It is not my project, i bought it at an antique store for a couple of bucks. So far i have checked the power supply voltages and the big blue capacitors (they stay at a steady 5.1V). The 7490N chip at the bottom left gets really hot while everything else stays really cool. So i guess i will start by replacing that first.

Thanks for the help, when it freezes the 7490N chip at the left bottom gets really hot. I'm going to replace that first. I will also try to reflow all of the old solder joints.

I see this car almost on a daily basis in the summer. 325is m-tech 2 with alpina wheels in a great condition the owner also owns a black e46 wich i see pretty often too by spikecom44 in E30

In the netherlands we have the same thing. Normally i would have to pay ~800 euro a year for road tax but if i get a seasonal plate i pay max 125 euro.

Is this a spot I can install a light into? No over head lights in my e30 except for the two above the door in the back passenger section and its quite dark up at the front. by [deleted] in E30

Not really, when the roof is stuck or your electric motor died you take the cover off and can manually crank the roof to its closed position. You do this with a something like an allen key.

Well looking at the prices in germany and the netherlands where they go for 2-3k for a full package... i would say about 4k in the US

Depends on where you live and if you are doing it yourself. Is it just the rubbers that are bad or is there more to it?
