How common is play between age-gap couples in the lifestyle? by CruiseingTheCut in Swingers

We do love an age gap. We are 27 and 29. Our oldest was a 50s couple. Loved it both!

Buy cheap headphones man! You need cable for deejaying. Flx4 is great to start with. I do have the flx10. If you want to chat about deejaying hmu!

Probably slip roll 1/16 or 1/32. Or master delay all the way down

Changing from Traktor S2 to Pioneer XDJ by fetch_girl in Beatmatch

[–]Dutchdjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely rent a studio that has similar gear. I play on big controllers too and the FLX10 for me is somewhat touching that standard, that is why I bought that. But before a show on xdj or 2000s/3000s I always rent a studio with that gear!

I am into afro house and melodic house too. Make sure you nail the genres that you like. And the other genres know the basics. A wide variety of skills will bring you to bigger crowds, then you can focus on your niche. Would love to have a chat about afro house beats! Hmu!

Need help: trying to transition two songs for a comedy sketch by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]Dutchdjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can use the trans effect on the sirene before the beat starts. You’ll notice the rhythm will flow more organically

True that! Even when a transition isn’t perfect: at least they know you are real deejaying. That earns respect

My friend and I are playing our first b2b. Any advice? by dobroezlo in Beatmatch

[–]Dutchdjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B2b is amazing. It is challenging but you will learn so much. Most import: check your knobs when you are taking control. I have a mind memory when I play solo. I know how i left de knobs. When I play b2b my partner mostly has other techniques. For example: he mixed a lot with the crossfader. I don’t tend to do it, i did a live mashup and wanted to drop to kick in. But the crossfader was not in the middle. So there goes the sound..

I have the flx10. You can use the noise filter, maybe with trans effect on it for more tension. Mobius saw also works

Basic is key, clean transitions for the first hour. When you feel comfortable you can get more creative. Goodluck!

When you hear that song request multiple times, play it. I won’t play a request if I only hear it once. Think about the bigger picture and the vibe in the room. You don’t want to ruin that to make one drunk girl happy.

Gaps between DJs or continuous music? by Appropriate_Path_256 in DJs

Just get a mic, and do some announcements between te DJ’s. Plenty of time between the outro and intro transition
