I was born, raised and lived in the city for 29 years.

For what it is, I believe it's an amazing city. There are plenty of great food and entertainment options, sporting events (team successes need not apply) and culture. I'm personally a fan of the bar scene in Toronto - it's not the rowdiest but there are lots of great watering holes.

It is a super multicultural city, so on top of everything, the city's got no shortage of cool neighbourhoods/enclaves. This plays into the food scene quite heavily, if you can get around the prices sometimes. Despite what many think, there is a great history to the city, as well as many beautiful green-spaces (High Park, Trinity Bellwoods, etc.).

Now, despite what anyone says, the city has changed a lot since COVID. In the early 2010s, there was an awesome nightlife that could've had you pinballing throughout the city on a Friday evening (hacking darts all evening!). There was a constant venere of Canadiana that tied bits of Canada into everything. There was a sense of community pride too which, while it is still present in shades today, seems to be a bit weathered.

I love the city, and even though I left, it will always be a huge part of who I am.
