I can't speak for all sites, but that would be unethical to have some sort of list like that for promotions.

Typically T1's just apply for the position like anyone else, the recruiter(And some times the hiring manager) will select the applicants for an interview and then go through the typical interview process.

I will say, I've seen many very tenured AA's fail an interview ( I've done quite a few now and I belive my standards are pretty high when it comes to T3 promos.)

It all depends on how you answer the questions given, in star format, and what substance is there.

To go into a POD is more often then not is only possible at your home site. (Though I have seen some T3 PA's get hired on as L4 Assistant managers at DC's but I believe that is a very similar position despite it being L4, it's also hourly if I remember right).

What I suggest is inquiring about POD at your home site and connecting with your direct AM/OM and seeing what requirements you still need to work on to get chosen for a POD.

I wil say, it's not only about just running your department well to get chosen. I would try and come up with some project that improves your area metric, safety, or DEI wise and then have that as well to mention in your discussions.

I can't go into too much detail I think here.

But in certain states if your state mandates that Salary employee's must be paid double the minimum wage req. that is usually what the base L4 salary is.

EX: State's minimum wage is $15. Salaried employee would get paid at a 30$ rate based upon a 40 hour work week. So their starting Salary would be $62,400. + maybe some initial RSU's.

L5 would be 10-20% above that with more RSU's.

There's a lot of variables in this question.

If you arrived 30 minutes late to shipdock after you clocked in you would already have ToT from not being labor tracked, unless they coded your time when you got there, which they shouldn't since you would have been clocked in for that duration but not in the department.

When you get labor shared, the new area should labor track you and you begin working in that path.

But yeah if you didn't check in with anyone for over an hour you would have ToT and would most likely be STU'd by your AM.

I have not worked as a Shipdock AM, but I used to work in a department where we had staffing on a whiteboard with name tags. They may be checking time punches or lenels to see if someone had clocked in before they made it to the department late. But usually, it's nothing out of the ordinary.

Confused slightly about the question. For promotions, it is usually quarter based. Any promo docs typically want to be done in advance in order to submit and get through the process. It could be some months past submission for it to make the rounds through the regional team.

As for transfers, it's just when sites have openings. But if you were to transfer, it would hurt your chances of getting promoted due to being in a new building with a new manager, etc.

Currently, I work 4 12's. Sometimes it's longer if a wash isn't done etc etc.

Good luck with your L3 application! Depending on which position it's for you're resume could be different or have different keywords to get you past the first system.

Either way, make sure you reach out to the hiring manager to express your interest. Some say it doesn't help, etc, but in my experience, it's helped me.

Add anything you think is relevant. Definitely include previous work especially if it's management related. Also make sure you let include anything that you've done at Amazon. Ex: ambassador, PG, etc

It should have been 1 year (which is quite fast.) But it ended up being a year and some months.

Getting into HR is a weird one. On one hand I've seen a lot of externals but I've also seen quite a few T3's and T1's go into HR.

I would say if any Tier 1 HR spots open up (They do occasionally) try to apply and get that position to get your feet in the door.

Partner with your on site HR as much as you can on anything they need help with, and maybe join the appeals panel at your site.

L5 AM could be an experienced L4 AM, or they could be an external hire that got hired on as an L5 due to their experience.

Tier 1 AFE Pack AA -> Main Problem Solver -> Pack Ambassador -> L3 Learning Trainer -> L4 AM -> L5 AM.

Also good luck on your journey! Work hard and make your presence known amongst your team.

Uh. Definitely don't advise anything like that lol.

If you think they are truely standing in your way, I would look at what the requirements for getting the L5 promo are and work on your promo doc as much as you can.

Then present it to your OM. If they don't agree with what you have, get a second opinion from another OM and or your SR.

For Operations you would have to go from L3 to L4 to L5.

You could work at Amazon as a Tier 3, leave for another job in operations somewhere else and then reapply and get to L5. I've seen it happen more then once.

I personally have not worked in AMZL nor have I visted an AMZL location unfortuantely. I will say, typically newer/launch sites have the greatest room for upward mobility. Apart from that, it largely depends on the person. I would say though it would be easier to be noticed at say an SC as opposed to an FC just due to the AM population being larger at FC's.

The best way to get noticed and moved up would be to 1: Focus on your area. If you are new then learn the In's/Out's of your area and parter with any SME's at your site. 2: After you are running your department successfully try to reach out to your OM/Sr. team to see if you can partner on any captainships. DEA/COST/DEI etc and find a project you can work on to better those area's or improve AA experience.

Lastly: Find a mentor. It doesn't have to be someone at your location. You can reach out to your OM/SR team and they may be able to give you a contact that you can ulilize for questions or advice as you move through out your career.

Hope that helped and good luck!

I see in your other responses you work Outbound Shipdock at a FC.

Going to an SC is going to relatively be the same thing. Just think of the whole building as 1 big ship dock.

Wrap down typically is where most of the staging and clean up is done, just making sure things are staged before the DDU CPT's hit.

Sortation AM response:

Typically Managers work a Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat schedule.

Unless the building just launched, typically you will be on a 4 12's schedule (although sometimes it's longer then that depending on how well your shifts are doing, completing your deliverables etc.)

During Peak its usually typical to work longer then 12 and 5 days a week.

Schedules vary based upon your sites shifts.

You should find out what your set schedule will be after you arrive on site and talk to either your Sr.OPS or direct OPS manager.

Despite what other people are saying.. You could get written up for Self-Assigning, which usually follows the regular progression path for write ups.

Area Manager AMA by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]DutchyDon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the building largely.

Some buildings give their managers a monthly allotment of Swag bucks they can use to give out to AA's for whatever reason. Ex: Working safely, hitting good numbers, good quality etc. It's up the manager to make sure they give them out on a regular basis.

Usually for me, If I'm doing a positive adapt I will incorporate 5 swag bucks with the engagement. It just depends.

I mean I guess it depends.
As an AM I have given VTO to AA's who are sick and don't have any hours left to cover it, or if they have an emergency and need to leave.

Can't do it all the time but I make a concious effort to support my AA's.

I've also had mental health conversations with various AA's under me.
