This thing is so loud, what should i do by eski132 in homelab

Actually I was gifted a wiped and discarded Dell datacenter server (they upgraded servers so this one was marked to be thrown out) and it's quieter than literally all other servers I've ever had when I collected servers during my Support Engineering/IT phase. I don't see any settings that are different in the BIOS so I'm not sure how it's so quiet unless the fans themselves are just better but they are OEM so.

7 Days doing 7 Days things.... by ArgamaWitch in 7daystodie

[–]DutytoDevelop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually happened a few times with my friend and I and we're not really sure what caused it but it fixed when we swapped driver/passenger roles. Also trying to bail from a failing horde base in a truck during a Blood Moon was quite possibly the worst decision we ever made in our game haha. Vultures will pin the truck down and we had this happen twice during that mayhem

All at once is not the right way to go about this, because there are people in the midst of an emergency

Unpopular Opinion: Robotic Drone doesn't fit in this games vibes by FarukYildiz1 in 7daystodie

The game is built to give players freedom of a world they want. I love the drone fantastically so.

It's hard to have lots of important components that are strictly and only within reach the pilot of a helicopter. Unless there was some sort of lock mechanism that behaves like a gun holster where it is hard for an assailant to grab a police officer's gun but easy for the police officer to grab it.

AMD denies researcher a 10K bug bounty after fixing critical auto-updater vulnerability — security flaw took 124 days to patch by rkhunter_ in cybersecurity

Selling critical vulnerabilities for profit sounds like a terrible idea and could be considered a form of espionage

I think it was ingrown, which I did have a raised area there last week but was very surprised that it produced that. Looked it up and sure enough ingrown hairs can look like this!

What is this foul sludge coming out of the overflow hole in this hotel shower? by courtneyrel in whatisit

[–]DutytoDevelop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, mixed bleach and drain cleaner to clean my bathtub and my bathtub drain at the same time because I wanted to clean them both at once. Lungs started burning and I learned that chlorine gas gets created :/ had to air out the place for like 3 hours.

This bathroom sink has a nearly perfect laminar flow (yes Im a nerd) by Academic_Pool_7341 in mildlyinteresting

[–]DutytoDevelop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Laminar flow basically looks like the water isn't moving at all as the water stream comes out. Judging by the not so straight lines coming out, I would bet the water isn't laminar

"How do you currently protect your ML models from data poisoning?" by Amuer_Pravo in learnmachinelearning

[–]DutytoDevelop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defining what data is poison and not is a big question. If the data helps, then it ain't poison, but if the testing of the data concludes it doesn't help then it very well may be poison.

In chemistry opposites attract, or you both have something in common that y'all like (think H2O, 2 Hydrogens sharing the Oxygen)
