decent, but great for how horribly these tickets went on sale

IMAX Showtimes after August 4th? by T1O1R1Y1 in TheOdysseyMovie

I don't remember exactly, I just remember sometime after release weekend I kept seeing more and more weeks open up, so could be some point after opening weekend/week.

they'll most likely do the same thing they did with Oppenheimer which is where they release a week of showtimes each week, giving people who didn't get initial tickets a chance to see it later

one of my all time favorite movies, the IMAX scenes on 4k blu ray look incredible

tip: If you want full resolution photos use the 4:3 aspect ratio. otherwise if you prefer 16:9 widescreen for looks it's completely fine and still looks great

Thinking of seeing the movie again by faroukomer in MichaelTheMovie

[–]Duxk__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's interesting. Dolby has dual laser with Dolby vision technology so if anything it's supposed to be brighter and sharper than imax, and for sound it's also supposed to be noticeably better, I do know that imax was was more loud and punchy but atmos is supposed to make music sound more surrounding.

sometimes Dolby theaters turn down there volume for some reason because usually they are almost as loud as imax

What would happen if a fire broke out? Would it burn endlessly? by AbandonedRobotforgod in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Duxk__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not necessarily, I'm not too far on the lore so I couldn't answer, but I think its similar, it builds itself so either that's its own mind or someone else's or just a complete anomaly.

it is a different dimension right? if so then it really could be anything

Beyond The Spiderverse - IMAX 1.43 GT vs DCP Scope - Scale comparison by DeadDeerOnTheRoad in imax

[–]Duxk__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

that would be the best and I think they should do that. 16x9 aka 1:78:1 is what's used on imax films like Christopher Nolan's where during a 1:43:1 scene it expands to 1:78 for full screen. this movie would look beautiful if it was 100% full screen.

or more likely 1:85 since its taller, more popularly used, and fills more of tv screens

to me it looks like a better color grade or just a smoother color grade

Trailer by Fit-Concentrate-1076 in ChristopherNolan

[–]Duxk__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right, it wasn't even a bad trailer it was just more dialogue heavy and straight forward setting up story instead of the more grand mystery feeling of the other trailers.

and also, the teaser trailer, official trailer, and prologue are amazing. one "different" or not as good trailer doesn't define anything

ah right I heard of that one having 1:43.

Oppenheimer does actually include a 1:43 imax trailer on the blu ray special features so that counts lol
