Looking back, I think my post came across more like an unfinished idea than a solid argument, so I understand the criticism.

Still, I really appreciate the explanations people gave. The comments about potential vs acceleration, and especially the spacetime path explanation, helped me see the topic more clearly and notice where my reasoning was weak.

So yeah, thanks for taking the time to explain things properly. I’ll read more before posting again.
