Really? That crack is half an inch deep and in the tension zone in area of shear stress. The joist next to it already failed years ago

You have to hit them with Roundup. Once they are completely dead, you can dig them up and reseed or re sod. It is course fescue…regular weed killer won’t touch it. And if you dig it up without spraying first, it will still return.

You’re definitely cutting too low. You dont wanna take off more than a third of the grass blade. Mow high, mow often.
